Works fine. Fits the horizontal and vertical vents in a Vauxhall Astra estate and a Vauxhall Astra hatchback (cars are about 5 years old). The two mounting spikes are a bit hard to fit and I had to really prise them apart, but it means a tight fit and it doesn't wobble once installed. I'd say double-check the measurements before installing: at first I installed it too high because when GrumpyLord put his Samsung S5 phone in it part of the car touched it and turned it off so that he had to re-boot it.I've had this phone holder for some weeks only so it's too early to say if it'll last, but it feels solid/sturdy.

Excellent, sturdy feeling product, as mentioned in other reviews. Small, solid, stays mounted on air vent permanently. Yes you need two hands to place phone in but that's not a hardship, it's very easy and holder does not come off vent when doing so. Grips phone tightly so no need for support at the bottom of the phone (and in case this then complicates cable access to the lightening point).

This worked great; for about a dozen uses I couldn't fault it. But then without me realising, the metal in the clip broke through the rubber covering, resulting in damage to my air vent where the metal has scratched. Until this happened it worked great and I must admit to missing it, as it was such a useful item. Easy to throw in a suitcase so that you can use your phone as sat nav in a rental car. I'm also impressed by the vendor's customer service, as they have offered to replace the item with an upgraded version. I'm hoping the failure of mine was a one-off.Edit - I'm happy to say that the replacement that I was sent didn't have the same problem as the original and it's still going strong over 2 years later. Despite the problems with the first one, I'm happy with this product which still gets used and abused regularly, living in the door pocket of the car with all the other odds and ends and getting used several times a week. It still looks as good as the day I unwrapped it.

I've never had a vent mount before but was pleasantly surprised. It has a tight grip on the vent and is steady while driving. It fits my HTC U11 well, even with a silicon case on. The first time you extend the holder to put your phone in, it is quite stiff but I found after that initial time I could do it with one hand while its mounted on the vent. I was worried that this wouldn't be that secure as it only holds the phone on the sides but it has a really tight grip on the phone and it feel very secure. The only thing I would prefer is if it was on a roller ball so it could be angled to the side so the view of the phone is positioned more towards the driver, rather then just straight on but overall I would highly recommend it.

On receipt of this product I found that it differs from item shown in the video. The clip part is in two parts and not three as shown. This means that this will not fit shallow vent designs very well and certainly not without bending the slats. Its got a good grip on the phone itself and seems fairly secure in that sense. the swivel action works well although it appears to be slightly sloppy in the rotational locks so it sometimes sits at a slight tilt which can be irritating.Overall its not a bad product but its also not the best, id say stick with a suction type that use the windscreen as they are far more secure and stable.

Great when using the satnav on my phone whilst driving. Easy to use and clip onto the internal car grills. Sturdy and good quality- no need to pay the branded prices you see in shops this does the perfect job!

This item is secure, reliable and cost friendly. It fits my phone with and without a case and is flexible for different phones which is great because I’m not the only driver of my car.I used this to hold my iphone 7 plus so that i could see maps when driving. I had previously used a magnatised holder but change my cases a lot and didn’t have enough of the metal stickers. Also tried one that sticks to the window but this wasn’t secure and kept falling off when i was driving.

The holder wedges itself onto most car vents (although beware of the circular type that move as so will your mount...). The wedge is a little too strong, pulling off some chrome trim when I repositioned it after a week but that could be loose car trim on my part! The holder itself grips well and is better for being one sided; you can put your phone in one-handed whilst holding it. You do not need to spread the arms with one hand then insert the phone with the other (you do need to do this for the equivalent Belkin product which has arm which move on both sides.The holder has been secure in actual use and importantly keeps the phone out of the normal field of view giving you less chance of falling foul of the clear vision law. Basically a nice cheap way of holder your phone securely in the car. I personally have a Samsung S9 which it holds very nicely whilst in its case.
