Worked for what I needed. Few flaws though due to Dell
If you just bought a Dell computer and you only see that new white "59 pin" on your computer instead of tbe familiar VGA (blue port) on your computer this is the conversion I used and it worked perfectly for a Dell Optiplex 745 computer. This computer actually had a VGA port on it but to my dismay it wouldn't work because of "no built in graphics card" errors and such. Anyways, this fixed the problem.. mostly. Be aware the VGA's are both female so if you have male ports to plug in with it will work perfectly.. I have a monitor with a built in VGA outlet to plug into this adapter and it works perfectly. No issues of any sort. The OTHER display i have is another story. It was also a Dell monitor but it did NOT have cables with it at all. So I basically cannot use this until i get a VGA extension cord AND a male to female adapter. Basically if you don't have extensions this only reaches out about a foot. I tested the other port (it comes with two... See in the picture?) and it worked.. Problem is the monitor is sticking out of the back of the computer and this is not really usable, I was just making sure it worked and it did. Extension cable is already on the way.Put simply this will solve your conversion problems with Dell computers since for some reason they switched to this port (59 pin or LFH) instead of just keeping VGA. While it is nice because it is BUILT to handle 2 monitors... It isn't really necessary in my opinion. Works perfectly on the windows 98 monitor I have and the dell monitor I got (even though i can't safely use it otherwise it'll get superheated by the fans in the back) so if you are in this kind of situation like me this will fix. This was also (at this current time May 2013) the cheapest cable for this conversion of LFH to VGA. Just check and make sure all your ports will work (male and female ports are a bugger if you were new at this like me) and of course get extension cable unless the monitor already has it (most I've used do) but be advised Dell monitors do not.

Works for using a VGA monitor with a DMS-59 card
Worked exactly as I needed it to. I have an old Dell with the DMS-59 card in it. I also have a VGA monitor. I wanted to give the whole setup to my parents who have a computer that is more elderly than they are. After asking here on Amazon whether this splitter would work with just one monitor (I didn't see any that were just for one monitor) and having several people say it would, I went ahead and ordered it. Works perfectly!

It does what it does - don't expect too much
If you want to split a single VGA signal so that two *identical* monitors show exactly the same thing, this might work for you. However, don't expect it to work well with two monitors that are not identical. Furthermore, don't expect it to extend your desktop. To do that you're going to have to go beyond that single on-the-motherboard VGA port, and add a video card to your PC (if you can). One more thing: with two monitors connected, video may fail to start on boot (VGA driver can't figure out which monitor to sync with). If that happens, try booting with one monitor powered off. Power it back on when boot is complete.

Perfect solution for my Dell.
I have an older Dell OptiPlex GX280 with an ATI Radeon X300 Graphics card and the cable fit the DMS 59 pin port perfectly. Runs two monitors perfectly. Shipping was prompt and the cable is of good quality.

Didn't work for me
Not sure if why not but this didn't work. Actually bought 2 of them and neither worked. Tried every combination between computer and monitor with and without these connectors and the only common failure were these connections, all the other equipment seemed to work fine.

Works like a charm
The problem was a Dell computer with a digital-only video card and a VGA monitor. Just plug this adaptor into the video card and the VGA monitor into the adaptor. Works as if the video card had a VGA port.
