Smokin Beans 2-Pound Panama Bouquet Freshly Roasted Coffee, Washed Processing, Full City Roast, Premium Whole Bean Specialty Coffee

The coffee was fresh roasted and of excellent quality. Ordering and delivery were above standard. This particular high altitude grown coffee has a remarkably pleasant aroma and non acidic flavor.

I expected much better. I had such high hopes!Beans are weak and flavorless; I even tried to rehabilitate them blending in various other beans (Pete's dark and Pete's light were tried).

We love Panama Boquete coffee and have since our son brought some back from Panama last summer as a souvenir for us from a school trip. It can be really hard to find in the states, and really expensive. I was thrilled to find this, especially given that it is roasted to order and shipped very quickly. We had it three days after we ordered and immediately made espresso in our moka pot with it. It's delicious! It's perfectly roasted and fantastic value for the price, plus, short of living in the same town as the roaster, it got to us VERY quickly and was packaged in an airtight bag to keep it fresh. We will definitely be ordering this again.

Operations & LogisticsOrdered the Panama Bouquet with a custom blond roast level around 9:00 am on Monday October 25th. Had a tracking label for shipment from smoking beans around noon same day. Very impressive to do a custom roast level and have it shipped within hours of my order. Don't know if that is normal for any day you order or if Monday is the best day to place an order and I just got lucky. Beans arrived via USPS in my mailbox 2 days later on the 27th. I live in Texas. The bag has the roasted date and the roast level clearly stamped on the front.Bean observationsThe beans look unevenly roasted to me. I posted a picture of them. That may even out with more time as they are still degassing quite a bit this soon after being roasted. There are a lot of different opinions on how long to wait after roasting before using, I made my first espresso on the 29th which was 4 days and my 2nd espresso today on day 5.Taste in the cupI have some Panama Bouquet beans from another seller that taste better to me than these. The other seller's beans are larger and more uniform in shape and roast than from smoking beans. Smoking beans still made a drinkable cup that was not bitter. I think it's too early after roasting and it will get better in a week. It made a ton of crema which is another sign of using too soon after they were roasted.

The coffee if good and mild in taste with slight sweet aftertaste and strong aroma. Overall good average quality panama boquete. Unfortunately after 5 purchases I have to move to other brand because it become overpriced for the quality.
