Claire Chase Executive Leather Laptop Briefcase X-wide, Computer Bag in Saddle

I ordered this Claire Chase extra wide Briefcase and was immediately thrilled! This bag is PURE LUXURY! The leather from this bag has filled my office with a beautiful aroma. It smells like a new car!! You can tell from the hardware that this case is real quality. The case is beyond beautiful and it's super well made! I have worked in manufacturing for many years and I know qualify when I see it. I already own 2 other products from Claire Chase and have been extremely happy. I actually called the company and their customer service department went out of their way to help me when I asked if I could exchange the black for the saddle color. They swapped it out without a hitch and were super friendly! I have ordered this brand for years. I can 100% recommend this company to anyone that wants a quality bag! If your looking for the BEST at an affordable price and Great Customer Service, this is the brand you need to buy. Mike M.

Arrived today, absolutely gorgeous. The color is closer to a warm caramel than what Amazon's photos show, but gorgeous just the same. It appears to be high-quality and has pockets and storage spaces galore. The pockets on the front look small but open them up and they are much larger than they appear. Another Amazon customer had a problem with the should strap separating from the bag, that's one of the first thing I checked. They must have corrected the problem because not only is there a rivet securing the mounting point to the bag, but there is heavy duty stitching holding it down. It appears to be very secure.The back has two zippers, you can utilize it as an extra folio pocket or open both zippers and it will slide over luggage handles or, in my case, the back seat of a motorcycle.The dimensions are wrong, the bag is NOT 13 x 18". It is 12 x 17". I bought it to carry my work laptop which is 11.5 x 17" to and from work . . . what a disappointment that the dimensions are wrong. I'll be returning this bag and ordering the Jumbo model instead. Mine was also missing the ID tag . . . meh.Overall, if you want a very smart looking bag that has pockets inside of pockets and storage galore . . . definitely order yourself one but be careful if you have a large computer you need to carry, this one won't do it. It says "Fits most 17" laptops" but I think you should consider anything larger than 16" too big for this one.

At first I was a bit hesitant to buy this bag due to my needs. I wanted a medium size bag with a lot of compartments. While this bag is a little above medium it definitely fit me description in the compartment-department. Like I said the bag is above medium everyday size. So if your looking for a smaller bag, then I would not recommend this bag. However, if your a professor, lawyer, or consultant-such as myself- then this is the perfect bag. I carry a lot of huge books and a variety of electronics and this bag withstands all the weight. My laptop fits great, in fact there's extra room left over. The style of the bag screams class. So if you like classy, then you have found your match. However, if size is more important than class and you prefer a smaller bag, then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Very well made. Has a multitude of storage areas that allow putting different things like a computer, Ipad, files, and just about anything else you can think of in the right place.One flaw is one zipper will hang-up if the leather is bowed out or the particular storage compartment if too full. Once you remember to zip it the proper way no big deal.I plan on using this case for many years. Will be great for traveling and using as an extra carry-on when traveling. Like how you can unzip the back of the case and fit it over the handle of my wheeled suitcase.

After less than 2 months of light usage, the leather holding the strap ring to the bag tore rendering the bag useless. The leather securing the ring to the bag is very thin and is just not designed to carry any weight. In addition, the rivet holding the ring is not fastened to the bag itself, so it does nothing to help carry the load Claire Chase Executive Computer Briefcase, Black, One Size  -- see the photo to better understand why this bag is so poorly designed and will not carry any weight whatsoever. Unfortunately, I am just outside the very weak return policy, so this was a waste of $235.

I love this bag. I use it weekly to carry my files, laptop, portable printer and all of the chargers and cables I need. When I purchased it I bought some zipper lube to be safe. The bag is classy looking and seems to be built beautifully. One note - I do not use the provided shoulder strap so I have no idea how long the rings will last. This bag is all that I hoped it would be. Soft, quality leather. The compartments hold many items with room to spare. I have one complaint - my briefcase arrived without the ID tag tethered around the handle/strap as pictured in the photo. I don't want to return the item because of small, missing ID tag - and I don't know how to report this issue without filing a return request. I also can't go to the original manufacturer as I didn't buy it directly from them - so I feel stuck without a means to file a complaint to get a replacement $5 tag. Aside from this issue, the bag is perfect as advertised.

It will favor one side depending on how much and what all you pack and end up looking bulky and sloppy if not careful. Get the slimmer one.
