Every time I try to switch to another bar soap, I ALWAYS come back to this one. Nothing compares. Pure, simple, clean. Never irritates my sensitive skin. I repeat - I always come back to this bar. Long lasting, and great value for the money. I appreciate NH made! We use it for our whole family.

I'm very pleased with this soap. This soap is exactly what it is advertised, saponified tallow. For those who don't already know, saponification is a natural chemical reaction that turns fat into soap. I cannot have soap made with coconut (which provides lots of lather and is in most soaps, but you don't need all of that lather to get clean) or most other vegetable oils due to allergies and/or strong migraines, and coconut is used in chemical soaps as well! I can finally have a shower without a getting a migraine with this soap. I find it cleans my skin well but you have to take the time to rinse thoroughly. It isn't particularly drying to my skin, but I don't rely on soap to moisturize it, either. It's unscented for those of us unable to have scented soap, so of course it doesn't smell "pretty." People can be allergic or sensitive to anything, so always try new products in small areas.

I haven't used it enough for a 5 star review, but this is based on my first use. I got this for my husband because a lot of soaps bother his skin. Depending on the soap he could have hives or scaly dry skin. This was the first soap he used that he was excited about after his first try. No hives. He convinced me to try it. I went one further and tried washing my hair with it. Amazing. Pros: The bottom of the shower was not slick after use. I can't tell you how many times I have nearly fallen after a shower because of the soap residue. This had none. The smell. There is a slight smell to it, but it smells good. It doesn't over power your nose. I used it as a shampoo, not as drying as my regular. After I used the vinegar rinse, I would even say my hair is softer. Lathers up great. I have used other natural soaps and they had no lather. This was amazing. Cons: Doesn't fit into our soap dish. Really that is the only con I can think of. After I use it some more I may change my review. But my first impressions are that this is a great soap.

I've bought and used this tallow soap for over 5 years. It's naturally derived and produced. I have extremely sensitive skin and this is the only soap with no added ingredients that I can tolerate. It's made similar to any homemade soap that uses lye, which cooks off during preparation so none is left in the final product (if you're not familiar with it, research the topic so you'll understand the process). I've never experienced any harshness in any of the different batches I've received so I appreciate the consistency of always being gentle on my skin. It has a faint scent of beef tallow which I find comforting; it's not a strong or aggressive scent in any way. I've never had an issue with any of the products, with the seller, or with delivery. I'm very satisfied with this product and will continue purchasing it in the future. Highly recommended!

I love this soap. It is so affordable. It lasts in the shower it moisturize and clean my skin without stripping it completely dry and leaving me itchy. I have been using the soap for a couple of years and I’ve recommended it to many people. I really love how gentle it is and I love that. It is fragrance free without tons of artificial additives.

I gave the soap three stars because I didn’t get allergy from it. Other soaps always get rashes on me. But this soap caused my skin very dry and itch . After shower I got several dry spots, later more showed on my legs, on the dry spots the skin was rough and itch so I have to put Vaseline to stop itching. I guess the dry spots caused by higher pH. Maybe put less lye to lower the pH? Now I don’t know which soap I can use. Before I always used Irish original soap but now the maker changed the formula. It is hard to find a soap without coconut oil, palm oil or other plant oil.
