I just think it is an unusually piece of pottery that serves a good purpose. Its different . Useful pretty historic and it works perfectly I love it . Keeps my butter fresh and a spreadable temp .

This is a pretty little thing that I love, even though it only works in warmer parts of the country, not up North. If you live anywhere between County Durham/ Tyne and Wear and Scotland, don't bother.I even tried keeping it inside the (turned off) microwave and in different cupboards in warmer parts of the house. Nope! Butter remains rock hard, as if it were refrigerated, and it's not different to a traditional butter dish. Yes, I wasted my money and I regret it. It's pretty so I will save it as a kitchen ornament until summer time.

Wonderful product! A French invention that keeps Butter Fresh without refrigeration & lets you spread butter at room temperature. My first try is 6 weeks old now & as fresh as when I put it in. Just change the water & put a pinch of salt in the bottom of the crock once a week. BUY!!Ade

I feel like I have been duped. I followed the instructions and the butter is solid. It takes time to soften the butter gently. You fill the pot. But to find it is the same as if it was from the fridge. It feels like a waste of money and my time. Wish I hadn’t bought this now. I might send it back for a refund
