inTank Chamber Two Media Basket for Fluval Evo 13.5 and Fluval Spec 16

This thing is amazing and I will be purchasing the housing for chamber one to go with it! This thing is perfect for holding multiple types of filtration and definitely helps with moving water through the sump more efficiently. While the price is high you definitely get what you pay for the material is super thick and sturdy.

My clownfish was a frown fish while I was frantically searching for months for replacement media for my fluval sea 13.5 gal. tank. I found this item and placed it on my shopping list, while I continued to try different things. I was worried it wouldn't fit in my tank when I got it. So I decided to try it out and order it. When I received it, I took it out of the package and it slipped into slot two of the tank like a glove. I paired it with some filter media that was recommended. Within hours, my tank was starting to clear up. I am now going to remove the sand and start slowly replacing the items in my tank. It restored my interest in the tank. I had been depressed because he was so neglected. Thinks are staring to turn around for him and he is happy once again! Thank you!!

Had this GEM in my cart for 2 months contemplating, finally bit the bullet and paid the $50 for the chamber 2 InTank media basket.Let me start off by saying if you purchase this product you WILL NOT regret it!!! Compared to the stock “foam “”””FILTER”””” insert” this thing works wonders. I got so sick of the weekly water-change and rinse the filter ordeal (only to keep detritus at bay) however since I have added this to my tank my water has become visibly crystal clear, it is very effective and does its job. I paired mine with a bag of carbon, Chemi-pure blue, and standard polishing filter floss (in the order starting with floss at the top for easy cleaning access).Please do yourself a favor and purchase this you won’t regret it!Big thanks to inTank for this long term solution, also comes with an in tank sticker and chamber two plug for better flow through the basket!!

The basket fits the 20L all in one tank that I made and modeled after the Fluval 13.5 perfectly. It does not fit my Fluval Evo to no fault of theirs. The wall between chamber 2 and 3 is not square, Fluval glued it in crooked. Nothing a little time and my Dremel couldnt fix.Now the design problem..... The wall between chamber 1 and 2 is slotted so you get a cross flow through this basket. Water does not flow from bottom to top like it should to filter through your media. Every slot will need to have filter floss on the chamber 1 side to catch the larger trash in your tank. No matter how you stack your media the flow of the tank design goes left to right.Its a good product build for sure.

EXACTLY as expected and fits the tank perfectly. I run chemi-blue & purigen as well as filter floss in this. I will say it took forever to ship but when it finally did it was a great addition to the tank from the nitrate factory sponge that comes with the Fluval Evo.

After alot of research I've found nothing comparable to these. Definitely makes cleaning the filter much faster and forces water thru the media of your choice.

The media could not be loaded. I am currently using these media Chambers for carbon, gfo, matrix rocks, and polishing pads. None of my reef aquariums I've ever stayed this clean. I would definitely atribute part of that at least to the ability to stack media in those chambers.I did however have to make a slight modification to the top of the acrylic where the water flows in. I had to dremel down part of the acrylic so the water level wouldn't be as high as it was. The water level was so high that salt creep was really bad. They worked but the constant maintenance of salt on the side of the aquarium was not optimal.

In theory this media basket solves the problem of the big sponge turning into a nitrate factory. I'm not sure to what extent this is true though. It's well made, fits like a glove in chamber 2, easy to pull and put back in. But also costs almost $50, so quite pricey considering all it is is a few pieces of acrylic/plastic put together. My biggest complaint about this is that it did nothing to make my water clearer, I still see quite a few small particles in the water column just like before. In fact I see absolutely no change and I'm using this as shown on the diagram. I have 2 inTank filter floss pieces at the bottom, Matrix in the middle and Purigen and Phosguard at the top.
