The Beekeeper’s War: The most compelling and emotional historical fiction novel spanning both WW1 and WW2

This story begins in WWI with an English manor having been turned into a hospital, and young nurses caring for the wounded men. The visions of that time period are vivid and interesting.Ultimately this is a love story with twists and turns. I would have enjoyed learning more about Jack immediately after the war, and Emma’s work in WWII; I felt it ended rather abruptly. But I know choices are always made within an author’s limitations of length and story focus.I wouldn’t mind a sequel to this one.

This book is one of those hard to put down as you wanted to find out what happened to the main characters. I’m a fan of historical novels, especially those centered around England and France which are set in WWI & WWII.

This was a story of true love and how war made life and loveImpossible. I loved the history and the beautiful description of the gardens and folly!The nurses and their hard work was so fitting at the time of war.I enjoyed this book immensely!

. . .but still a very good book. It’s a reminder of how many lives were torn apart in wars.

Great story and characters. Love really is the only thing that really matters and this book portrays that very clearly and gently.

Sad when I read he final words.Hoping hat it would have continued after Pru and jack got back together. Looks like could be a series.

The storyline with its intricate details has kept me reading and page turning until it was over. Love this book.

I have just finished reading this book/ What a good read it is I would recommend it if you like WW1 & 2 stories. I couldnt put it down. This is the third story by this author and have enjoyed them all. I have just ordered an historical novel for a change by this author.

Another ww1and11 story that is so. Delightful,Deborah never let's you down, i was hooked from the very begining with Jack and prue and would highly recommend this book ,a love story to warm your heart.

DNF. It focuses too much on Pru's mushy feelings and not enough of her duties as a nurse during WW1. If you didn't know from the chapter headings stating the year it was supposed to be set in, it could have been any time period, which is OK had I not wanted to read more about the experience of the nurses and pilots of that time.

I enjoyed this book very much, extremely well written and I couldn’t put it down
