Like a laser beam!
If you are into pruning a little here and there and you want a fast cutting and comfortable little saw....BUY THIS! I strapped this tool on my garden belt while I had tasks other than pruning to do. Low and behold...a surprise branch or two on one of our Japanese maples needed attention. This well made saw zipped through 1 and 2 inch branches practically before I could think about lunch. I was so surprised by the ease of cutting I headed for our weeping cherry tree, as it always has a few branches to prune. I picked a couple of 3 inch branches and with, maybe, 8 easy pulls each of the branches fell to the ground. It was a lot more work dragging the long branches to the mulching pile than it was to trim them with this saw. It's really well made with a wooden sheath and sharp as possible. It cuts like a laser! Not sure where or when I'll be able to get it sharpened when needed....but, I'll buy another one if I need to as this is now a must have tool for me.

GREAT SAW!
I’m not a fan of folding saws nor saws with plastic handles. Just as I prefer fixed blade knives, so do I prefer a fixed blade saw; especially one with a wooden, ergonomic handle. This saw cuts like a hot knife through butter. It cutssilky, smooth and fast! I also love the wooden scabbard that houses the saw securely. The only downside is the vinyl strap and weak snap that holds the saw firmly in the scabbard, but that has easily been remedied with a leather strap and heavy duty snap, that I fashioned and installed in about an hour. Now the saw is perfect!

Not as good as the older models
I bought this to replace an older version, which I purchased directly from Garrett Wade. This one is significantly lower in quality, especially the wood handle and holder. The craftsmanship is messy and poor quality, its a China copy of the Japanese original probably. Very disappointed!

Love it.
For the price, I have no complaints. I could have bought the Japanese ones for twice the price with not much added benefits. This one works as good. I used my friend's Samurai (I think) brand last year, and I don't think King County pruner feels just about the same. Both cuts faster on pull stroke.I would not hesitate to buy another one if I can't find this one next year in my garage.

Looks nice. Weʻll see how the sawdust falls ...
I got this to replace a folding Fiskars pruning saw, the kind with a wooden handle and a blade that opened with a push button. That saw is unfortunately got stolen and is no longer available, but the blade was amazing - did not bend and did not break year after year. As for this saw, it has "Garret Wade" inscribed on the blade, and I know they sell only high-quality tools. This saw appears solid & well made. It is a beautiful tool. HOWEVER, it takes years of use to evaluate a saw, and in the end what really matters is the quality of the blade. Weʻll see.

It Works
I am glad I purchased this tool. I use all the time and works like a charm. Handle is comfortable, cuts branches like butter. I recommend this product.

Overall, it's a well made saw.
The saw blade is heavy duty and sharp compared to other hand saws I've purchased. However, the handle seems kind of flimsy. The handle is just a thin piece of flexible black plastic material that is wraped around the thin stainless tang. It looks like the handle could fall apart after some heavy usage. The length of the saw is nice, and it comes with a hole in the end of the handle for easy storage. The blade locks in place very well; the latch mechanism seems well made and durable. The overall product is nice, but the handle design has me questioning its durability.
