How to Fix the unwanted 2-piece pole collapsing
We knew going into this purchase of this product that there may be an issue on the top pole sliding down suddenly when You are making a forward pushing motion on the carpet. This was based on the feedbacks many buyers had stated. The fix is shown (when completed) in the above first 3 photos. Make sure your pole length is where you want it, and hand tighten. A work bench is recommended....Not the kitchen table!I used a 9/64" drill bit as it was the size for the #10 (see Last photo) size screw x 3/4" long (#10 x 1/2" long will work also). You will need a hammer and center punch (or spike type nail) to put a small dimple into the upper pole approx. 7/8" above the junction of the lower pole.(measured from the black plastic flat ring at the bottom of the top pole junction.. The pole is a very hard steel, so your drill bit must be sharp or New in condition. Use eye protection. Start out with a pilot hole where you made your punch mark (indentation required) until you drill approx. a 1/4" deep. Next use your larger drill bit that is for your screw size. Drill your hole to 1/2" to 3/4" depth based on the screw length you are using....you will have black plastic from the core spiral out your drill bit...normal, as it's a solid plastic core inside this area. Install your screw using a #2 Phillips screwdriver by hand....a power drill is NOT a good idea for safety reasons when installing the screw. The internal Black plastic core will secure and hold the screw tightly in place.

handle could be stouter
brush works excellent, used on old carpet, it doesn't look near as worn. long handle is a little flimsy and hard on back;. however I learned a trick by mistake. leave handle short and get on knees. I know it sounds crazy, but my back or knees did not hurt while doing or afterward. leaving handle short gives brush more of a push and you mainly use arms.

Works with Effort saves Money
I was so happy to skip paying for carpet cleaning by a company. This brush works best on lightly soiled carpets and rugs. It requires some elbow grease and a good rug cleaner. But there is satisfaction at the end.Wish I had known about it sooner.

Durability
I loved this item when I first got it. It worked fine the first two times I used it. After the second time the handle loosened up and I couldn't get it to tighten up again. Now it just looks good 😭.

Not usable
I purchased this broom to clean my area rug. I wanted it because of the adjustable pole. However, the pole doesn’t stay locked in an extended position. It continuously slid all the way down. Also, the rubber end that you can use to hang the broom on a hook Came off kept coming off I would. I can’t stoop down or bend over too far for extended periods of time, especially, for the time needed to scrub and clean and off-white area rug. The brush itself appears to be OK but I can’t read it because I couldn’t really use it because of the handle not staying in a locked position . I was very disappointed. The price was reasonable, but if it doesn’t work, then the price becomes too expensive because I purchased a product that I can’t use.
