Little by little, year by year, decade after decade, there are newer social arbiters whittling away at what was once the only game in town, namely Emily Post. Having been stumbling along the corporate ladder for five decades I must conclude that manners should be evaluated something like insanity.Anyone doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting markedly different results is a little bit daft. But the world does change, but like a grain of sand on a beach filled with tons of the stuff, and suddenly yikes, servers need no longer serve on the left and remove on the right. No room, no need? Who knows. But it happens, and bingo, you're out of step.My mother used to tell me, "I love you but I want everyone to love you, that's why you must learn to eat, and speak and dress with correctness. That's called etiquette." In case your next meal is scheduled at the White House, or in the private dining room of The Bank of England, then this book is for you. Only a rare corporate dining room like that of Thermo Fisher Scientific has been democratized in the 21st Century world of corporate etiquette, so any minor employee may be sitting near the CEO. In that case this book will help you very much. If your next upcoming lunch-date is at McDonald's, don't bother with this book. In summary, this book can help you in many ways, and it will certainly not hurt you. This book is a good investment if you are serious about climbing that ladder. Don't leave for the office without it.

The information is presented in such a way that the entire book does not have to be read. The information is timely and is updated to fit the modern office. Not only does it give tips for personal interaction, it also addresses the job applicant, resumes, travel, trade shows, cultural differences, gifts, and other common office situations. No matter the size or set up of the office, this book is a wise choice for those who stirve for success and civility in the workplace.

Great reference tool
Ever have that 1 question on 'how to' conduct yourself in a business situation? This book has the answers and the guidance on 'what to do.' Even the most experienced professional comes across a business situation question ... it's nice to have the answer before the situation occurs!

Provides a clear and concise summary of how successful people are expected to behave in a variety of settings.

Book is written by the epitome of manners and so has zero cons. The book is not a rule book but teaches the polite behaviour one should learn which is sensible than to follow a set of rules blindly. It's perfect for non-english-speaking people who need to mingle with people from other countries or simply higher society.quality: hard cover, paper quality is smooth, font size is bigger than usual (probably 14).
