Meat thermometer is especially used to measure the internal temperature of meats & other protein foods like poultry & eggs need to reach minimum internal temperature to destroy harmful bacteria & prevent food borne illness, I bought this especially to measure the temperature of chicken when we are making bar b q because no idea how much we have to keep more on fire to make its ingredients fresh or good for health if we don't have this thermometer.

I like the fact it automatically turns off when you lock the probe back into the body. It really is faster than the other electronic thermometer that I have and it is a good size to allow testing the meat on a grill without burring your hand. The probe business end is not tiny, but still pretty small and makes very small hole in the meat.

i had another one but it got damaged over night, this one is good enough for the bar b q and steaks.Just open it and it turns on. It have both temperature gadget. F & C.
