Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) promotes normal carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. Pantothenic acid, found primarily in the liver, kidneys, and heart, supports normal acetylcholine production, energy production, and fatty acid synthesis. Recent research indicates that pantothenic acid helps to maintain the natural barrier of the skin by promoting the growth of skin cells. Pantothenic acid also promotes hydration of the epidermal skin layer.
