Perfect size for me!
As a light-sleeper, I go to bed wearing earplugs. On several occasions, I overslept because I couldn't hear the beep of my old alarm clock, awaken my husband who didn't have to get up for another 2 hours. The size of this alarm is perfect to fit snug under my pillow. The vibration is strong enough to wake me up without disturbing my husband's sleep. There are many alarm clocks with additional features, such as current temperature readings, times in different zones, month-date-year, etc. I just wanted a slim alarm with a strong enough vibration to go under my pillow. The ShakeAwake Vibrating Alarm Clock is simply that: an alarm clock that beeps or vibrates. Now, as I age, my eyes have trouble reading the words on the back to slide the controls to "off", "set time", "set alarm", "beep", vibrate. I remedied this by brushing a dot of bright nail polish over the two headings I use daily: "vibrate" and "off". I absolutely LOVE this clock.

Very small but effective vibrating alarm nearly all of the time
This alarm really is small. Much smaller than it appears to be on the webpage. However, it does work. I've dropped it inside my pillow case (forget the nonsense in the instructions about ventilation--this generates no heat; inside a pillowcase is fine. I've also put it in my pajama pants pocket. It wakes me from a sound sleep either way. I read one review that questions its reliability (will it go off every time). It failed the second night I had it. Since then, I've been very careful to make sure the alarm switch is firmly seated in the "vibrate" option before retiring, but it's failed twice over seven months for no discernible reason. Because the unit is very small, the controls also are tiny. It takes good eyes and steady hands to set it and use it; so, it probably isn't for everyone. This is the third vibrating alarm I've owned. It is a reasonable value/price combination. Unfortunately, it is not completely trustworthy.

Akword but it works.
First let me clear up some misinformation found in the Q & A. It Vibrates for one [1] minute, the first 30 sec it pulses about every half second then steady for 30 seconds. It DOES NOT have a backup beep. It will either beep or vibrate NOT both. It DOES NOT have a Low battery indicator, if you use it every night replace the battery on the first of every month. The Back door makes it extremely difficult to operate the tiny tiny buttons to set time and alarm. The picture in the images shows it with the back door off, go ahead and remove it now or you will soon break it off. Tape the battery door shut or the door and the battery will fall out every time you drop it. The slider switch that controls the functions is very poorly laid out. When you slide the switch to the alarm off position it is also in the Time Set position so if you accidentally hit the Hour or Seconds Button, you have changed the time of day. Always check that TIME is correct before you go to sleep. The writing that labels the positions of the slider switch is SO Small that even with reading glasses it can not be seem. You will have to memorize how many clicks from left or right to move to leave the switch in the Beep or Vibrate position, Unless your pillow is paper thin it WILL NOT wake you up through your pillow beep or vibrate. I have an elastic sleeve that I put around my lower arm and put the ShakeAwake under the sleeve. I hit the snooze to stop it then turn the alarm off then back on to reset it for the next night, Works very good for me.

Do not use if you're a heavy sleeper
This really did look like a great way to wake myself up every morning without waking my Fiance up.The problem is the alarm only vibrates for 60 seconds. Then it turns off and never vibrates ever again! So if you're a heavy sleeper or take any longer than 60 seconds for something to wake you up, DO NOT buy this. Here's a list of pros and cons I found of the item:Pros:- Fairly Easy to use, the alarm is easly set by the buttons on the back- Small and compact, it's about half the size of a credit card so it easily fits in your pocket or under your pillowCons:- 60 Second Alarm, this is absolutely terrible, you would think for an alarm clock it would continue to do what it's supposed to do until you turn it off or hit snooze right? Nope. This is a deal breaker.- The buttons are hard to press to set the alarm, for the price you pay you think they could include easy to push buttons

Simple vibrating alarm
The last 3 years or so I've used a Fitbit One to wake me up in the morning. Clipped it onto my jammies rather than using the wristband and loved the gentle vibration around my neck rather than a harsh beeping to get me up. The One finally died and seems that a replacement is no longer easily available so I looked for other alternatives. The ShakeAwake does what it is supposed to. The minuses are that is it larger than the Fitbit I was used to and also that I can only have one time for the alarm at a time (with the Fitbit I had 5:15 am Mon-Wed-Fri and 5:30 am Tue-Thu and no time for the weekends and once it was set I didn't have to fiddle with it every day). However, this is easy to set, inexpensive and does what it is supposed to so I'm not complaining. I even came up with a way to attach it to my jammies in case I change locations during the night (to get away from a snoring hubby) and still have the alarm with me.

Easy to set with just the right volume
This is wonderful. I am not fond of using my phone on my nightstand for alarm purposes. I certainly don't want my phone that close to my head. My traditional alarm clock is so loud that it wakes up my husband when it goes off. This ShakeAwake Vibrating Alarm clock is perfect. I am a light sleeper, so the vibrating alarm is enough to wake me. The beeping is not so loud that it can wake the dead. When I need to use this, I can without waking my husband. I keep it under my pillow or on my night stand. I am very pleased with this. The size is perfect. Small, hand held size. It is also easy to travel with.
