Good product

I bought the 3671A model, and was pleasantly surprised at how effective and even ingenious it turned out to be, considering some of the negative reviews I'd read of the 3670 series. First, my observations about the negatives: The hose seems perfectly sturdy and didn't kink at all during the two times I've used the machine. As for the sound level, it's no louder than any other vacuum I've ever used, and in fact my cat didn't even run away from it (the way he's done with other vacuums) until I started vacuuming right under the chair he was sitting in. I found no fault with the suction power; the machine picked up bits of paper and cat litter easily without multiple passes. Okay, the cord could be a little longer, but then there wouldn't be room for all of it to wind up under the machine -- and making the cord retractable would just make the canister bigger instead of the neatly compact size it is now.Now the good parts: I have mostly laminate flooring, with Berber carpet in the bedroom. The floor brush changes easily from one function to the other, and both seem quite effective, with very good suction. Not only didn't the floor tool scratch my laminate, but the laminate actually shone when I was through. The other tools fit neatly into the canister, including the multipurpose furniture/upholstery tool, which is especially ingenious. The tool is actually two different tools (brush and upholstery) on one part, with two different openings for the hose, so you can switch from brush to upholstery by flipping the tool over and switching the hose into the appropriate opening. This saves carrying around two different tools, and saves a surprising amount of time and effort. Another plus is the way the vacuum bag goes into the machine. Contrary to the instructions on the bag and in the user's manual, it simply drops into place and is held there when you close the front of the machine - no bending of flaps or wrestling with inserts. The shoulder strap is wonderful for carrying the vacuum from room to room, although I wouldn't use it during actual vacuuming, since it could easily slip off the shoulder when you lean over to do upholstery or tight corners. And finally, the whole system really is incredibly light, and yet the motor is powerful enough to do a heavy-duty cleaning. I'm almost looking forward to my next cleaning day with this excellent little vacuum cleaner. (Note: I said "almost.")

This vacuum is great! I have long hair and just got tired of cleaning beater bars. This has an indoor-outdoor like floor attachment. Grabs hair and everything else. So easy to put together. Literally 2 minutes. Just attach the hose to the canister and add the wands. No tools necessary. Sucks like a pro. I've used it so far on hardwood, tile, and rugs. Grabs everything; for the rugs I just turn the attached ring to lessen the suction so the rug stays on the floor. Love the bag option. I have arthritis and the cannister on my regular vacuum is too hard for me to remove, empty, and replace. This comes with one bag installed and 1 extra. The opening for the bag is easy to work. The bag has a flap that is used to keep the dust in the bag when you go to throw it out. No dust flying everywhere. The cord is long enough to run through about 20 feet before needing to be moved. Cord storage is on the bottom of the unit. Wand length is good, it reached my ceiling. The little unit on wheels just rolls along behind me. Doesn't hang up when I switch from one surface to another. Love this!

Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. This is a very nice canister vacuum that has great suction, more than twice that of my other Oreck canister. It is simple in design, very functional without all the bells and whistles to break. Only negative was the slotted openings they built into the sides of the upholstery tool that reduces suction at the end of opening. I bought this mainly for vacuuming both my autos and the large wheels, onboard tools and long electric cord make it the perfect for the job. Better than shop vacs as they tend to overturn when pulling the hose. Blower option is rather weak, but OK for drying something I suppose? Most importantly I wanted a vacuum that had great suction and this filled the bill!
