Cream City Music Comes Through!
I bought a Gretsch G5427TG Electromatic Hollowbody Single-Cut with Bigsby and needed a case for it. I tried every case (literally) at my local guitar center but none of them worked due to the thickness of the guitar, the space for the Bigsby, or the strap knobs. A direct order from Fender wouldn't arrive until September (I bought the guitar in April).Cream City Music had the right case in stock, at the right price, and it just arrived in perfect condition and fit my Gretsch beautifully! Thanks to Cream City Music for a quality product in one week, instead of 5 months!

Plastic handle
This is considered the "economy" case. Unfortunately I have nothing to compare it to. I could find no description anywhere on the Amazon or Gretsch web sites regarding this or the "deluxe" guitar case. I bought it blindly. After receiving the case I noticed a label reading "TKL made in Canada". It has 3 medium weight hinges. The Pro's:The case is heavy duty, it seems very well constructed with nice latches and a heavy weight exterior, possibly nylon. I expect it will hold up well to abuse. There are nice round metal pegs on the bottom/back of the case preventing scratching of the case. The interior is padded with a grey, soft, fur type material. It has an adequate storage space for tuner and picks. It is a perfect fit for the Gretsch G5120 and most likely the G5122.It's a hard sturdy case that will prevent damage to the guitar due to falling or something falling on the guitar.Since it's fairly sealed, it will prevent dust and UV light from damaging the guitar. Dust is the devil to any electronics! The Con's:The case is heavy! I didn't weigh it but I bet it's 3/4 the weight of the guitar.Although ergonomic, the handle is just hard nylon with no padding. I'd be sore carrying it more than 10 minutes, without the guitar in the case! Add the guitar and it's like a fairly heavy piece of luggage without a padded handle. There is no place to attach a carrying strap. So the only way to carry it is with the uncomfortable hard handle. Because of this and the hard handle, I took away 1 star from my review. Conclusion:I think it is worth the $110 for the case but I will not be carrying it anywhere except to the car and back out again.

Feels cheap, but guitar fits snugly.
So, I'm the type of guy who needs a case for every guitar. I had just purchased a Gretsch G5422 and figured that this case (C6241FT) would work best because it was recommended by Gretsch. Well, I guess everybody's got to make money.I received it in a standard Gretsch cardboard box. The case itself was also in a plastic bag. No extra padding. Either way, that was fine because it received no damage in transit.Upon first inspection, I was underwhelmed. It was okay. It wasn't as nice as my Gretsch case from 1960, but at least it wasn't cardboard. The case has a decent heft to it, but it doesn't feel as sturdy as I'd like. The latches and the hinges all feel cheap. I would have liked to have had more than 3 latches on this case, but that's just my opinion. I wouldn't feel comfortable flying with this case, but for stashing a medium-priced guitar in a closet it's okay. The tolex or plastic texture is kinda cheesy. The lettering will most certainly wear away with time. The decorative stitching is okay. All the metal on the thing could be improved. The interior is a shaggy gray. It smells weird, but not an offensive odor. It just kinda smells artificial and plasticky. I don't know how it tastes, but I can't imagine it would be amazing. Who am I kidding? Of course it would taste amazing...if you like that kinda thing. Now, the best part is how my G5422 fits. It fits snugly without being too tight. There is a nice little storage compartment where I keep extra strings and the paperwork that came with the guitar. All in all, I think this case is a tribute to being average. So, raise a glass of your 3rd favorite mediocre beer, your most modestly priced whiskey or RC Cola because this case isn't going to impress. It does, on the other hand, serve a very limited purpose: to store a guitar in a secure space like a closet.Oh, the worst part is that I paid $140 for this monument to modesty. I would say this thing is worth $80 tops. Well, maybe $100 with the Gretsch logo.I gave it three stars because, well, because two was too little and four was out of the question.

If you take of it, it will take care of you.
I do not give out five stars, they are earned. I have had my case for one year as of the date posting this review and I have no complaints or suggestions for improvement what so ever. This Canadian made TKL case is home for my Gretsch G5120 hollowbody which fits snugly while also accommodating the Bigsby: which fits best with Bigsby bar rotated down pointing towards the bottom strap button. The case sees light travel from time to time onboard public transit (bus & light rail) when I take it to work with me to kill some idle down time working the graveyard shift downtown. The case has no more than scratch on it at most. Then again, to be fair, I am not one to abuse my gear. After a year of use I have not found any loose or flimsy parts. The handle has been comfortable and all three latches have performed flawlessly. The inner storage compartment has had enough room to fit a capo, tuner, cleaning rag and a 12 ft instrument cable rolled up inside. If you take of it, it will take care of you. My G5120 and I are happy

I approve
I was uncertain if I should buy this case at first. I would normally opt for a slightly cheaper version. In this case I figured after shelling out the cash for a new Gretsch g5420t it deserved a good place to live.I definitely do not regret the purchase. On a side note, my case's interior came with a smell I can only describe as playdough. Not unpleasant just noticeable. My wife is sensitive to strong smells and can hardly walk down the detergent isle. She does not seem bothered by the 'playdoughishness' (new word).
