When I was in Japan in around 1990 I bought it. This helped me understand Japanese much better. Might buy a copy again - probably Kindle. It is a very small book and it is possible to read this entirely. I consider it to be much value to ones dealing with the Japanese.

This one used to explain the strength of Japan, but now explaining the weakness of Japan, in education, sports, government, and almost all industry sectors., IT, finance, medical, etc.

Forget the Military Channel. You won't understand the Pacific War if you don't understand the rigidly vertical form of Japanese society.

the very basic principals of Japanese society has not changed. This book is one of the best to understand Japanese.
