WPA (Works Progress Administration) Era National Park/Monument Art. This illustration and painting was created by an artist working as part of the depression-era Federal Art Project, an organization to fund and support artists that was under the WPA. Federal Art Project artists were offered some financial relief and support in creating visual arts, among the subjects were the unique American historical and national landmarks and parks.
