After running out of Brita filters I decided to save a few bucks and buy a no name filter brand on this site. Did not like the taste of the water. If using it to make lemonade or flavoring it, it's probably fine.Since I drink mainly water it's worth the cost to go back to Brita. Yep, tastes much better with this filter.I'll save a few bucks somewhere else.

This worked great. It improved the taste of my City water here in San Diego California we have very hard water. And it has always tasted horrible. So happy with these new filters they work great.

I'm glad I went back to the actual Brita filters like this one as I previously purchased the Amazon version and the water was flowing through way too fast which made me question whether or not it was actually working.These are 6 month filters and you can instantly tell that it was truly filtering the water as it was clearer than the previous filter and the quality is better. The water actually tasted cleaner and went down smoother.

Update: I changed my rating to 4 starts from 1 star. Turns out that I didn't let the filter run through several cycles (which you're apparently supposed to do) and that's the reason it tested so badly at first. Ran it through 3 cycles and it was down to 102, which is definitely acceptable and will likely go lower with additional cycles. Was only fair that I revised this review because it's a decent filer after all :)BUYER BEWARE. Either the filter I got was defective or customers should avoid this “elite” filter by all means. It arrived today and I was super excited due to its claim about filtering out lead, which is a big concern due to aging pipes.Backstory: I recently decided to save some money by filtering tap water regularly while also being environmentally mindful by using less plastic from bottled water. I also bought a TDS water tester from Amazon and was also very excited to try it out. Well, the results were scary to say the least. I’ve had an old brita filter (the heavy white model) for over 7 yrs that was included with a pitcher I purchased although I’ve only used it a handful of times during that 7 yr period without replacing it - I know, not very smart! It made the tap water taste better (not great), so figured it was working and never thought about replacing it or even testing the purity.Today I decided to run a test with the new TDS gadget using the 7 yr old brita filter, tap water, Dasani water and “purified” water from 7-eleven.The results (highest number is worst):7 yr old white brita filter: 268 (impressed, but bad)Tap water: 221 (surprised it wasn’t worse)New brita elite filter: 496 (technically not safe for consumption)Dasani water: 27 (supposedly safe)Seven eleven water: 3 (couldn’t believe this one, so did a 2nd test and it was still the same)To mention that I was shocked would be an understatement. This is an honest review and I do NOT endorse any brands or any water testing devices, but couldn’t help myself by taking the time to actually write all of this.

Best filter for Brita! I will always buy this one from now on. It’s lasted so long like 3 months I believe I didn’t keep track but I like these a lot.

I guess it worked, I have no idea if it did or not.
