OK I've had my Dericam cameras for over a month and the Kamtron for over two weeks and I've done many hours of research on indoor and outdoor cameras because I wanted to get one brand of camera for both but it didn't work out that way so here's what I found out will save you many hours of time Quite simply put the Kamtron is a better camera then the dericam p2 but not by much but enough for the indoor cameras. For an outdoor camera the Dericam s1 is the best so I suggest you get the Dericam S1 for outdoors and the Kamtron for indoors You have to get used to different apps but that's OK it doesn't take long and it's well worth it and I'll explain why Both cameras a fantastic 1080 video and fantastic night vision and range so Kamtron and dericam p2 even thereAs far as connection i use a range extender and I've had no connection problems but the Dericam seems to have a slightly better range and an antenna and the Kamtron uses an internal antenna, but both seem to have very long range So if you are having connection problems get a range extender if using wireless cameras especially outdoors you can get them on Amazon for $120 for a great one, a good one cheaper, your call. The Dericam p2 app is a bit easier to use but not much And the Kamtron uses a common mipc app that many cameras use. Both cameras have to settle in for a day or two and you might have to reset the cameras once or twice but once settled they both work fantastic On the Dericam P2 you have to turn off the daylight savings time or it will mess up your videos where the Kamtron just set the time The way you want it it's a little more complicated but better I bought a 32 GB microSD card for both and that's plenty big enough but both cameras will take up to 128 GB cardTwo areas where the Kamtron outdoes the Dericam, p1 is on the Dericam when I take photos using my iPhone or iPad the photos sometime show up sideways where with the kamtron that does not happen . Well that is taking photos using your iPad home button and switch at the upper part of the device that this happens . It does not happen using the app photo button at the bottom of your screen . The Kamtron no matter how you take the photos they come out correct and are you lift your device the screen follows were on the Dericam p2 you sometimes must exit the app and reenter to get the picture adjusted to how you're holding the device , this is just using iPad Pro and an iPhone 7 the newest devices I have not installed on a computer yet nor will i because I just don't need to do that . But the Dericam is $14 cheaper so depends what you're using the device for .The other area the Kamtron excels over the Dericam is motion sensing . Both cameras will give you some false alarms namely when day turns into night, it only happens a few times and not a big deal for either one, but where to Dericam and has only low medium and high sensitivity, the Kamtron as a day sensor and night sensor and it goes from 0 to 100 so I like that better. as far as the night sensor I can't put it below 80 or won't go off no matter how much I dance in front of the camera and the day sensor I have it on 70 and it works fine there . The Dericam is easiest to deal with but the kamtron is worth the. Little extra effort in my opinion.The Kamtron Will put a picture on your iPhone or iPad when the motion sensor goes off. Along with the video on the Dericam just get video unless I'm missing a setting so I like getting a picture just in case somebody takes the camera and the carD in a robbery.The Kamtron has a better instruction manual but their customer service takes a lot longer to get back to you through email and Dericam will get back to you much faster but both work to help you fix any problems you have . This depends on what time of day or night of course but Dericams customer service is much fasterThe Kamtron sd card slot is clearly marked putting the SD card with the pins up where the dericams is not clearly marked but goes in with the pins down. It won't fit any other way. Please bear in mind these are my first three cameras I've ever had and a lot of this problems was my fault not the cameras but my inexperience . Both cameras if you run into a problem playing the Videos or the camera picture is blank just reset the camera and the app do not reboot it or you will half to hook up the ethernet cable and start from the beginning so just reset the camera And that fixes any problems from my experience All my cameras had to be reset at least once after changing and getting the settings to where I want so no advantage here for either camera . It only takes a minute and doesn't change anything so no biggie . Also the sound on the Kamtron is clearly better than on the Dericam .So my Dericam S1 outdoor cam is my favorite for an outdoor camera and this Kamtron is my favorite for an indoor camera but if you decide you do not want 2 different apps and two different brands of cameras it would have to be the dericam because Kamtron outdoor camera is a 720 bullet camera where my Dericam is a dome 1080 P and much better camera and looks much sexier it the Kamtron bullet cam is half the price, so your call.Trust me get the Dericam S1 for outdoors and the Kamtron for indoors and get used to both apps and both set ups of the cameras it's not that hard and you will be happy you did itIf Kamtron comes out with a dome 1080p outdoor that's as good as their indoor ones they would be tops, but since they don't I suggested the Best cameras in my experience and my hours of research have showedNow remember these cameras may not deter a robbery like the thousand dollar cameras you can get from a security firm. I bought these cameras for peace of mind when I'm not home to look in on my property and home, and if I ever get robbed hopefully the pictures and video I take for my iPhone will suffice to catch the criminals . Hopefully I will never have to find out but I do not want to pay a monthly subscription fee for I do not live in a big robbery neighborhood I just want peace of mind and I have it so ty dericam and Kamtron both fantastic product for the priceAnd I do not want to use the cloud only a microSD card so these are my two choices and you can't go wrong with either one. But the Kamtron hands down a clear winner My last update no need to anymore Kamtron is a clear winner by a mile . I put my Dericam p2 in my three car garage because I wanted a camera in my garage and my garage doors would not open unless you got right in front of the doors so that dericam has interfered with my garage door signals, so I took my kamtron out of my living area and put it in my garage and it did not interfere with my signals and work perfectly in my garage so I ordered another Kamtron for my garage now, my dericam stays in the basement, kamtron goes everywhere else except for the outdoors I'm still using Dericam outdoors thank you and good luckJust one more folks, the Kamtron did not affect my garage door openers as the dericam did, but the Kamtron did affect my keypad on my garage, the keypad will only open one door now. So be wary of putting a camera in your garage because it probably will hurt your signals somewhere ty

I got this to be able to monitor my backyard where my pool is due to teenage vandals that threw eggs in my pool and at my house last year so that not only I can feel safe but I can also make sure nobody is jumping my fence and using the pool unauthorized. The camera has an excellent picture quality being a 1080P HD camera with an ability to take excellent quality video during the day and at night. It is motion activated so it will turn on automatically when it detects movement and begin recording. The camera comes with everything you need to mount it and get up and running as well as the software to load on your smartphone to be able to monitor the camera remotely. With a two way microphone you can easily communicate with over the camera if needed which is a great plus if you have kids that are home alone for a bit after school so you can see what is going on and check on them. With a wide viewing angle of the camera and the ability to take still and video photos this is a great addition to the security of my house. It can accommodate up to a 64 gig SD card so there is plenty of room to capture everything you need, and with easy data transfer you can keep the videos on your home PC or Laptop as long as you wish. It is very comforting to have the peace of mind that I feel safe and I can see what is going on in my backyard anytime I like.

The product arrived promptly and undamaged. It was very well-packaged. The instruction booklet inside was clear and easy to use if you are going to use a "smart phone". Since we will not use smart phones and will use the camera with a laptop computer, this leads to my only complaint: The instructions are silent on how to use or set up the device to connect with a laptop. However, once you access the website, it is fairly easy to figure out what needs to be done. If I can do this anyone can!The camera does all it is advertised to do, and it does it very well in my opinion. The live picture is extremely clear and sharp, and the live feed streams very smoothly. I am using the camera to monitor a rural getaway, and the only broadband I can get there is 6Gb DSL. But the camera works very well the the DSL connection. I am running the Windows application that I downloaded from the website under Linux Mint using Wine. It works flawlessly. The site offers native apps for Windows, Apple, and Android operating systems.My only caution is to change the default password to a personalized secure password to lessen the chances of some hacker snooping in via this cloud-based camera.If you want an affordable, easy, good way to monitor a room or location, this is a great option._________I ordered a second camera for monitoring another area of the property. Once again, it arrived promptly and was a snap to set up. It works very, very well. I am very pleased with both cameras, and I may order more soon for another property location.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I have a couple other security cameras (720p) I bought from this company (Sound Gadget) and liked them so much I decided to try this 1080p version. It is essentially the same as the 720p versions with the exception of the resolution being a little bit clearer. The 720 are great but I wanted the 1080p version at my front door so I can get better detail of cars or people going in front of my house. Great item, so easy to setup. You need a phone app called "MPIC" if you want to see what is on the camera from your phone. I have an Apple iPhone5 and the setting up and use of the app was a breeze. You don't need to read the directions, it is that easy to setup and use. I attached a video for your reference, and hope this review helped you out.
