Amazing Product, Horrible Applicator
This is the most incredibly effective and gentle deodorant I have found (and I have used many many natural and regular deodorants). It is NOT highly scented and has a neutral almost glue-like smell, but it is essentially odorless when you apply it. This deodorant lasted over 24 hours even with heavy sweating, and it did not leave white marks or stains on my clothes. It did not irritate my skin or cause painful lumps like many deodorants do. So as for the product itself? Incredible. But it definitely has downsides. For starters, there is no seal/cover directly touching the product to prevent it from drying out, so the first time you use the stick you need to scrape off the top layer of product because it has become dried and crumbly. Once you take off that later though, the product is creamy and easy to apply (especially on semi-damp skin right after the shower). The biggest problem with is the applicator packaging itself. The cardboard applicator tube is great in that it is biodegradable, but the downside is that you have to push the bottom (like a push-pop, minus the stick) to access product as you use it. At first it wasn’t too hard to push up, but by the time I was down to an inch of remaining product, it was so stiff I could not get it to budge, even after using other tools and my body weight to try and push out more product. I tried warming it up as some users suggested (I put the tube against my skin while I got ready before applying), but it did nothing. At that point I literally had to dig out the product with my fingers and apply it like a lotion. The texture is semi-gritty (like baking soda) and a little slimy, but not bad. It washed off my hands much easier than a normal deodorant would (it was similar to washing grease/fat off your fingers), but it was so annoying to go to that extra work due to a packaging design flaw. I honestly would have preferred it to just come in a tube with the expectation you apply it like a lotion/paste instead of a stick as it would have saved headaches, frustration, and sore fingers from pushing. All that said - I still bought two more sticks of the stuff. The applicator is THE WORST I have ever used, and the color from the packaging can transfer to your skin if you rub it. But despite all that, that the product is still amazing and is my absolute favorite. So buy and enjoy, but keep your expectations realistic about application ease.

love the product, hate the packaging
I have had several of these "tubes" replaced by the manufacturer, and it makes me crazy. I love the product. I often have irritation from antiperspirants, or they only work for a couple of hours, and this product is awesome. No Irritation. Eliminates odor for 48 hours. The cardboard packaging is the worst! While I support their efforts to not put more plastic into landfills, I have not been able to "push up" several tubes. The manufacturer has acknowledged that there is an issue, but they have yet to fix it. I have had to dig into a couple of the tubes with a small plastic spatula and spread the product under my arm with my finger. Not good for a small $10 tube of antiperspirant.

Great formulation. HORRIBLE container!
First, it arrived with a hard, not intentional, film on it that flaked off when I first used it. And, by flaked, I mean it was the thick top layer that could t be used because it had dried and hardened. At first I assumed that was how it was until it broke off and revealed the softer product beneath. It was clearly not an intentional layer added to preserve the product. Not a good first impression, but after the first use I fell in love, until…I had to go to war with the container any time I wanted to push it up.I might give this company another try to see if my second tube is the same because I definitely love the smell and effectiveness….just not sure their container is worth the “environmental” hype.FYI - I regularly use Lume and other natural deodorants. I like this product more except for the container and flaky top layer.

Works great, awful packaging
ANOTHER UPDATE 07/2023: THEY LISTENED!! Run, don't walk, over to the listing for the Pit Pourri in the normal deodorant plastic tube. Currently only comes in one scent on Amazon, but it is SO MUCH EASIER to use!UPDATE 05/2023: this packaging is literally the worst. The whole stick popped out of the tube so I used a knife to help press the soft parts of it into a small cosmetic tub container. Now I use my finger or a craft popsicle stick to apply it to my pits. Still the only deodorant to ever be so effective at preventing stink and not ever give me an armpit rash, so it's 100% worth the hassle.Original Review 05/2022: This stuff is the best deodorant I've ever used. Not only does it prevent me from stinking, even in the sweatiest of situations, it also makes my skin feel great. I've gotten a rash at some point or another from literally everything else I've ever put on my pits. No rash from this!Update 10/2022: still works great and I'm only about halfway through the tube in 5 months time. I have considered changing brands *only* bc the packaging is so bad. But I'm hanging in there bc the deodorant is that good. It's nearly impossible to push the product up, and the tube is a mess with product and it makes it gross to handle. Before the first use you also have to pick the weird thick solid layer off the top to get to softer product that will actually apply to your skin. I did discover a trick to getting more product out though: (remove the cap before either step, doesn't seem to matter much)Step one: lay the tube on its side, and roll it on a hard surface while putting pressure on it with your hand. This kind of breaks the product from sticking to the insides of the container.Step two: place a prescription bottle upside down on a hard surface, and press the bottom of the stick into it to get even pressure across the bottom of the deodorant stick. Push down to get the product to come up. (Don't use something too narrow, like the handle of a brush, bc you WILL bust through the bottom of the package. A small sized pill bottle seems to fit best of what I have tried.)I have to do this about once a week or every other week, and like I said I've made it through about half the product in 5 months. Deodorant shouldn't require hacks, but here we are. What a time to be alive!
