National Geographic: World Executive Enlarged Wall Map (73 x 48 inches) (National Geographic Reference Map)

Not to be a drama queen... but, w O w...I carefully read reviews before taking a decision on which World Map to purchase. I wanted it to be:1) factually correct2) large3) aesthetically pleasingNat Geo checked the first criterion. As for point two, it is true to advertised size (73"x48"). And point three - my goodness, the colours are warm and earthy. Some of the bluish tone ocean maps i looked at seemed "better", but i have zero buyers' regret with this purchase!The packaging was also superbly adequate! I bought the non-laminated one, and it came in a sturdy but light -weight, transparent plastic tube, 4 feet long, and the length of the map neatly rolled inside. The extra shipping i needed to get it from the US to where i live in the Caribbean had this plastic tube encased in a further cardboard tube, three inches in diameter. I read reviews that complained about maps arriving creased and damaged; mine was in perfect condition! Beyond the product itself, i have rave reviews for the packaging, shipping and handling of the product!I have to mount it, and will duly take photos and post with this review, The intention i have is to affix it to a styro-foam sheet (said sheet comes in 4'x8'x1/2").Again, i cannot emphasize enough how pleased i am with this choice, and for the price, it was so worth it, i may buy more in it... I highly, HIGHLY, reccommend! :D

I sent this sight unseen (except in the photo online) to my son and daughter-in-law for their anniversary this year, and recently while visiting him, got to see what it looked like in person. He actually had already purchased one for himself with a different fame, and mine was sitting underneath his that hung on the wall. He told me he liked the frame on mine better, and was going to swap it out and put the one he purchased for himself in a different room. He and my daughter-in-law travel around the world, so it was a nice addition in their home. It is much nicer than I even expected, and would recommend this to anyone who wanted something with a very classy, rich look to invest in. I doubt you'd be disappointed.

Had some wrinkles, but nice detailed product

I am definitely overall pleased with this map. I put a one inch styrofoam insulation backing on it and mounted it using 3m velcro strips. I definitely think they could show more detail and cities on the map, especially for the size. Maybe NATGEO started with a really small version and then just blew it up. For a map this size I would like to see more cities and visible lines between countries and states. We use it for our kids to see where we have been and would like to go and you basically just have to pin the capital of the country. Maybe I'm being picky...... nah

EXACTLY what I was looking for! I love all things travel, and I've been wanting a map to hang in my room for a few years now. It's taken me forever to find one as large as I would like that doesn't cost a fortune, or that isn't a decal that will have to be thrown out once you remove it from it's original placement. The colors are perfect, as they'll easily match a variety of room styles and I'll be able to continue using it even after I purchase new bedding/decor. It does come rolled up in a tube, so you'll want to lay it flat with heavy books or something on it in order to stop the map from curling back up or rolling.I also love that I have the option to hang it however I want, rather than an option that comes framed. I'm planning to "fake" one of the wooden hanging systems by purchasing wooden dowels and then attaching one along the top and one along the bottom.

Cool map! Though the shipping box was undamaged, the plastic tube for my first map was bent and the map was creased. They quickly shipped me a new map. My only reservation about this map is that my wife wasn't willing to let me put up the even larger wallpaper version!

Every American home should have this map -- or the larger version of it --displayed prominently.Ours is mounted on the wall above the TV in the livingroom, a placement that is handy when watching news of the ongoing wars throughout the world.Lord, help us all!
