In the afternoons after school, Capt. Mary Michael Bousson, President of Fairhope Rattle, would go fishing for redfish with her brothers in their 14 foot panga. They lost a lot of tackle - especially popping corks. One day while fishing their favorite redfish cove, a light bulb went off! Why not make corks themselves? Then they’d never run out! The kids pitched the idea to their parents and got their support. They started testing different materials and prototypes. The end product was the Fairhope Rattle, constructed of thick stainless steel wire, tie-dye beads, a 3/8 oz egg weight, and a high visibility cork. Still hand-crafted, lovingly packaged, and distributed as a family business here in America. Excellent for both Saltwater and Freshwater. Anyone can produce fish attracting "rattle" effects with light rod tip action. Ideal for saltgrass marshes and shallow bays for redfish and trout. Jig with plastic shrimp tails, speck rigs and tube lures or any of the many other plastic lures on the market. See for yourself why fisherman and fisherwomen in Fairhope, Alabama, and around the United States love Fairhope Rattles!
