The slide rule, also called abacus, has been a simple but popular learning tool for decades. It consists of 10 bars on each of which 10 balls are arranged in red and blue steps in steps of 5. This allows children to display numbers, count, make greater, equal or lesser comparisons and handle all basic arithmetic types (plus, minus, times, and divided) in the number range up to 100. Illustrating the slide rule makes it much easier for children to understand the tasks. The counting frame is made from re-wood, which is a sustainable and ecological material that is produced from crushed wood residues in German production and a binder in a ratio of 80 to 20 in a resource-saving manner. The stable but lightweight material is 100 percent recyclable, free of harmful substances and certified with the PEFC seal. The family-owned company Wissner relies on conscious, sustainable material selection and produces exclusively in Germany.
