I was pressing my grilled cheese and paninis with the bottom side of a plate. I could never find the right size to press the sandwich. This product is perfect. It is just the right size and heavy enough to press . Ity washes easily and small enough to store in your cabinet

This is one of my favorite things in my very tiny kitchen which has necessarily high admission standards. I have an electric panini press but I use this a hundred times more often, for paninis and also for getting plenty of surface contact for veggies. If you eat without using oils, this is really helpful for crisping up food and at the same time keeps the food from drying out in the middle. The weight is just right - it keeps food in contact and gently compressed, but if you want to flatten it you can push down as much as you need to. The wood handle has this really nice solid heft and the round shape fits inside a skillet (I may be missing the point of the rectangular ones but I don’t see how they would work for me). Even though my electric panini press folds up and stores pretty compactly, I might have let it go in favor of just this.

Very heavy and smaller than the bacon slices. I cut the slices in half and it worked fine.

If you hate your bacon to curl up and cook unevenly, you'll love this handy kitchen tool. It's sturdy and easy to clean. You do need to season it before first use because it is made of cast iron. After using, it must be cleaned and lightly oiled before storage, because it will rust. I downgraded it one star in "Easy to use" because it's round and a bit small. American bacon is usually fairly long right out of the package, and will curl up outside the press. On the positive side, it's fine for hamburgers and grilled sandwiches.

We recently have been using thick cut bacon and have had problems getting it full length crispy the way we like.My wife discovered this bacon press and I thought it was worth a try at a very reasonable price. It is sturdy and came with advice on “seasoning” the press for the first use. It worked beautifully and the effect on the bacon was exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend this item and would buy again.
