This Japanese Cast Iron Kyusu or Teapot is a Nambu Tekki, a traditional Japanese Ironware founded in Tohoku region during the Edo period. It is known for its durability and beautiful designs. It is heat resistant and the iron is subject to various process to prevent from rusting. Kyusu is a traditional Japanese teapot that is used for brewing Japanese green teas. The most common Kyusu comes with a handle on the side. But, Japanese teapots are not limited to these kinds of design, they also differ widely from the handle placements, their shapes and even in colors.
