I rarely write reviews, but I'm really enjoying this book. I've been playing for over 30 years and bought the book to fill in some blanks on scale and chord shapes. Shipway explains the content very clearly and offers tons of useful exercises to reinforce the concepts. After only a few weeks, I already feel I understand my fretboard way better. Whether you're a beginner, advanced, or somewhere in between, I highly recommend this book. It's a game changer.

The book is nicely laid out and easy to follow. I purchased music theory for guitarists first and it really set me up for this book for better understanding.

This course is so comprehensive and yet simple. I have only had it for a few weeks and it has already expanded my perception of the fretboard. Very likely I will purchase more of James’ courses in the near future. If you want to learn the CAGED system this is the right course/book to choose.

Have learned a lot and retained a lot from James No Bull Barre Chords and Theory books. The CAGED system is the same quality. Puts you on a the right path to learn and review this topic at the proper pace. Would recommend any James Shipway book based on my experience.

If I’m to advance as a guitar player I have to learn the CAGE System. It’s something I’ve been avoiding because it’s like going back to school UGH However This book makes learning less tedious. Great book.

This book very clearly explains the CAGED system. I am only part way through using it but it is already helping me understand the fretboard better. Highly recommend!

I really like Jame's style of writing and breaking things down into very understandable concepts. He provides great visuals, explanations and examples in his bonus content. I have his first three music theory books and this book and thanks to him I've improved exponentially. This is a must have.

Years back I heard about the Caged System but didn't really know how much this was going to help my guitar playing. This book is very understandable. Now I am playing lead over chords. This is what I was looking for. If you are a beginner or an advanced guitar player, I do recommend this book.

I have a number of his books and Caged System is a methodical , easy to understand reference guide,One of the awesome additions are the riffs and licks included to get CAGED under your fingers
