Got this for my son to track various activities, the normal running and cycling but also the other sports he partakes in. It tracks windsurfing and SUP activities, he now knows how fast he is sailing, reach 33 mph the other day. When the watch was received we had problems sync the watch, quickly solved by carrying out a software update. I have noticed other people giving the watch only one star because the could not sync to their phone - top tip always update the software with Suunto before trying anything else. Once updated this watch is fantastic, love the movies it creates also.

Brilliant sports watch and designed specifically for running. Got it out of the box and gave it a good charge, within 30 minutes of charging I had it totally set up. I have run with it three times now and it's great. It takes no more than 3 seconds to pair with the heart rate monitor and has GPS lock a few seconds later. It's cheaper than the fitbit surge I bought a while back and can be fully customised. If you run trails and any distance this is the sports watch for you.

I train for trail and road races and this watch has all the functionality i could ask for and more, whilst still focusing on running. never run without it. The HR monitor and GPS pair almost instantaneously. highly recommend this watch, well worth the price.

Wouldn’t charge

Excellent- would heartily recommend this.

I have now had this watch over 2 years so have definitely given it time. Up until early this year, the watch was fantastic - it was accurate, GPS was really quick and the Movescount app had all the data and information I needed to check my progress and compare my routes. At this point the watch would be 5 stars. Unfortunately Suunto decided to move away from Movescount to the Suunto app. A handful of their 'legacy' watches would lose a lot of key features - Ambit 3 Run being one of them. My biggest issue is that I can now no longer get a map of the route I have run, this is now pointless, how can you try to improve on a timed route if you don't know where it was! I have contacted Suunto about this and after about 2 months of chasing I did get a reply and it seems this is not going to be fixed but feedback will be given. Since then the accuracy seems to be far less accurate frustratingly and I can't help but think this is an intentional ploy to get people to purchase other models. Unfortunately this will push me to another manufacturer I'm afraid.
