These are excellent magnets and are a little larger than I was imagining. They are very strong and feel well built. Not strong enough to be a retractable baton, but ... you get the idea. As a magnet, works great.I did notice it was a bit sticky extending and retracting them, so I wiped a very thin layer of oil on the shaft everywhere, extended it a couple times, and wiped off the excess - immediate improvement. Recommend you do the same.Pro tip: If the magnet gets covered in iron filings or other junk, you can use a piece of tape to remove it.

If you lift something heavy, the extension will pull itself out, but otherwise it's more or less as advertised as an ultra strong magnet!

Great for us older folks to pick up dropped screws, tools etc. My spouse made fun of me for using them until she needed one, she's not laughing now.

These were stocking stuffers for my young adult grandsons. They all loved them and even had fun playing around with them. The magnets are very strong and will be used by them all in many different ways.

I got the double set and gave one to my son. They are fantastic! I use mine in my office. No worries if you drop a paperclip, staple, etc. The magnetism is very very strong and the shape of the handle makes it easy to hold. I love how it can be made to a longer length—perfect for the toolbox as well for all those loose screws or nails—a must-have for all rooms in your home. I may order a couple more for the other rooms in my home to have on hand. Very useful and strong.

Telescopic arm is a bit wobbly. Handle isn't secure. It's a great concept but the quality isn't there and it doesn't meet the claims. Still a useful item but not without issues.
