New Design - Now Heavier and Less Classy Looking
This is being written on 1/10/17. Apparently, PaperPro has changed their design - see accompanying picture of what I received. Beware that the picture shown by Amazon for this item is now incorrect and needs to be updated. I have researched this, and this is not a shipping error - but in fact the design of the PaperPro Prodigy stapler has changed. The old design used to have a slight arch in the top handle, and the bottom piece curved downward on both ends - which made the stapler look rather classy and it was really easy to pick up. In addition, there was red in the logo and different lettering on the old model. The new design has none of those features, and it looks like your standard plain-old stapler. I was also surprised to find that the new model is significantly heavier than the old model - which REALLY disappointed me. The new stapler does work and in fact does staple 28 sheets of paper instead of the 25 from the old model. In all honestly, however, the extra 3 pages is not a selling point for me when I have to give up the classy look and light weight of the old stapler. You may laugh that I found having an elegant looking stapler was important, but yes, well, it was to me. I hope the manufacturer will offer the old design again. Thanks for listening.

Works great, lightweight, although loading staples is counter-intuitive
Got this to replace my Swingline Optima PowerEase Stapler that was rated at 25 sheets, as it doesn't seem to be made anymore. (I gave my Swingline to my Dad.)This stapler is also rated at 25 sheets and so far works very well. I'm very pleased with it. It's very light weight and even easier to use than my Swingline. That's really great for those of us with hand and/or wrist pain. Loading the staples was a bit counter-intuitive; thank goodness for YouTube or I'd have thought this stapler was defective.Overall impressions: this stapler is easy to use, has a nice grip whether holding by hand or using on the desk, and can go through a nice amount of paper. Very happy with this purchase.

Great Stapler
I recently replaced my Swingline 777 stapler because it constantly jammed. The Paperpro by contrast is much easier to fill (once you learn how) and drives a staple very differently. With the 777, you apply pressure with your hand which directly forces the staple through the pages. This slow pressure is part of what causes staples to bend. With the Paperpro, the pressure from your hand goes into a spring that can be felt building up resistance until it is suddenly released and quickly drives the staple through the pages. It may be accurately described as a staple gun. So far, I have not bent a staple or experienced a jam. This is really a fantastic stapler and I'm hoping it will last over time.UPDATE:As of 2017, I'm still lightly using this stapler and can't remember ever having a jam. I'm quite happy with it.

Received Different Item Than Ordered
I did not receive the same stapler pictured. I was ordering a replacement Paperpro Prodigy stapler (which I love!) to replace the broken one in my office. Someone had borrowed it while I was out and returned it broken.I enjoyed it so much that I was immediate in ordering a replacement! What I received was a Paperpro 3200 which is okay, but doesn't work as well as the Prodigy. It frequently requires several attempts before releasing a staple. I am very disappointed that the item pictured was not what I received.

As both a teacher and student, I've used this stapler for years...automatic staple with thick stacks..works every time!
I've been a teacher for over ten years and I keep coming back to my PaperPro. Whether I needed to staple a huge stack of papers or open it up to create a bulletin board, it worked consistently and reliably. The cost has steadily gone down over the years and I wonder why anyone buys a manual stapler anymore. I no longer teach but as a medical school student I find myself stapling huge stacks of printed out notes and white papers. It still does the job perfectly every time. Even stacks that I think, "Oh this is way too thick". It works!
