Old engines ten to have rusty thermostat housing bolts, which was the case with mine. The fact that this housing comes with bolts was a huge plus! Good quality, works as expected.

Fits on the intake without any issues and the finish was good. The problem I encountered was the thermostat was loose in the housing after tightening. Tried 2 different thermostats with no difference.

Make sure you straighten the gasket out for a wile before installing
I like the built in rubber gasket makes it a lot easier then trying to aligned the factory style ones. It also fits the thermostat in the neck really tight witch I liked. So I would recommend this for a 65 mustang with a 289

Pretty hard to mess up this piece but they did it.
Bought the new housing to replace an older piece which lost some its luster. This newer version of the Spectre thermostat housing is pure junk. Lighter, poor finish and the supplied bolts do not fit through their intended holes. I suggest you look else where. In my case I purchased a cast aluminum dorman housing that I intend to polish myself.

Not a real quality item.
The finish is ...ok. Could not use the supplied bolts as they would not fit through the holes in the housing. The large inlet port is undersized and the radiator hose fits very loosely. I went with two clamps to ensure a good seal. An ok product but would not buy again.

ultra thin casting,barely any lip to hold hose on.probably weighs half of original. I wouldn't trust it on my cars
