Initial impression (with update)
Purpose of purchase was to have a portable amp for music jamming. It has a mixer with a variety of inputs, quarter inch and mini phone plug Plus USB a and micro SD card slot. Device has a rechargeable internal battery and seems to be well made. Sound with guitar and Mike inputs are quite good, reasonably loud acoustics but I do not intend to use it for large audience situations. I would prefer that the Reverb and tremolo effects were separate and applied to potentially all inputs, but they are mixed together in a knob called Echo, and only seem to apply to the mic inputs. But those are quarter inch phone plug so you can plug a guitar into them as well. At this point I have yet to use it with the mic I ordered, or with the cordless mics that came with the unit. it did take longer than it should for the shipment to arrive, during which Amazon gave me the option of reordering or canceling or retrying the order altogether. The second order retry did successfully arrive and the unit was in good condition.Update: I have now had the unit for about six months and taken it to house party jams a couple of times. The other reviews that mentioned a buzz/hum in the amp, especially when the inputs are disconnected, is true HOWEVERit appears to be the "light show" feature that creates the noise. So if you leave the lights OFF on the back power switch set (the amp still on otherwise) AND ALSO turn off the light-show button on the console (so there is no light show at all) about 90 percent of the amp noise is gone. While I realize that in larger venues a performer might WANT to use the light show to attract attention, in such a larger venue the ambient background noise from other people is most likely gonna prevent anyonefrom noticing the hum.I have since also used it with both the cordess mic pair (comes with) and an optional phantom-power-usb condenser mic on the wired mic input. The condenser mic (sold optionally on amazon) is so powerful that it is challenging just to keep it from feeding back (which is VERY Loud). So do not point powered condenser mics at the speaker pair. There isalso a level knob on the mic model that I got, and the sound quality seems quite good aside of the loud gain. That mic has two cables: one mini-phone for the amp mic input (needs adapter to full 1/4 inch) and the other is USB-A to get power but also can use USB mini on a provided Y-connector.The cordless mics seem to work well but use 2xAA batteries each. I run re-chargeables because the mics suck battery pretty quickly. But use fully charged alkalines if you are doing a gig. I think that will keep their signals strong enough to even use them as acoustic instrument mics as well as voice karaoke. Other wise as they get weak, their backlit LCD displays start to flash and presumably their signal quality deteriorates and might also create more hum and other awkward "bang" sounds sometimes. In general I am quite pleased with the unit and did find it recommended among the long list that amazon sells. Nobody knows how to pronounce the name of the brand, but I can get over that.oh yeah, about the rear bass port: this is a bass-reflex speaker system. SOUND is meant to come out the FRONT not the port. The port is to keep the internal air pressure equal so the speaker cones do not get ripped apart by bass notes. Personally I am not into thumpy "music" but just be warned that such noise is not only not that good for your amp rig, neither is it good for your ears. And as for the lack of "directionality" of the sound, low frequency is inherently direction-less since the sound waves are longer than the distance between your ears. The HIGH frequencies are pretty much the opposite.

Great Gym Speaker
If you’re looking for a loud speaker, this is the one for you! This is my second one and am just amazed at how loud this can get. Perfect speaker for large events, you can even connect 2 at the same time.

Worked for me
Not bad for home entertainment and party gatherings. Not much on the deep bass but it def does the job. Good for the price point.

Vegue VS-0808: The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
After using a borrowed Karaoking Karaoke Machine for a couple of months (and having a blast!), we shopped for a karaoke machine of our own. The Karaoking was on our list, but the appearance of a clone under a different brand name and the mirror image product image on Amazon made us wonder whether Karaoking was a good choice. Apprehensively, we got the Vegue VS-0808 hoping it would perform as well.THE GOOD- Switching line modes is fast and easy. Default is Line In, and switching to Bluetooth is accompanied by a nice chime.- Easy to use retractable handle. Works ok as a one-handed grip when down.- Decent 2" diameter wheels. Work fine so far on indoor floors. Not so sure that it should be wheeled outdoors.- Decent plastic casing quality (smoothness and thickness).- Front grill looks good and has good fit.- Large volume dial with bright light ring to see in dark.- Wireless UHF microphones connect quickly. Easy to hold. Mudder mic covers fit ok (just be gentle when slipping them on or the foam may tear).- Control panel has nice low-profile buttons, and finger-sized knobs.- Bluetooth with iPad works great. We are able to connect iPad to TV for video via HDMI then route audio to Vegue via Bluetooth. No disconnects like we had with the Karaoking.- Like that the power socket is on back and a power brick is not needed (saves space on power strip).- Power and lighting rocker switches on back easy to reach and solid clicks. However, reverse lettering in dark gold is impossible to read.- A feature we like is the guitar input (although we haven't used it yet)- Two lighting modes for front face. With Lighting switch in off position, a strip of light wraps around speaker area and the subwoofers flash periodically. With Lighting switch on, the flashing frequency increases although not sure if it is pulsing with the music. Not very bright though.- Should mention that there is a remote control, but we just control the music from the iPad and the sound from the machine's control panel.THE BAD- Labels on control panel are in small lettering and off-white color. Difficult to read in daylight. Impossible to see in low light setting. Needs either glow-in-the-dark, back-lit or side-lighting over control panel. Makes for poor user experience.- The bass and treble ranges are mediocre. Disappointing given this is a double subwoofer system; minimal thump. Karaoke machines with multi-frequency equalizers produce better sound (stronger bass, sharper voice clarity). Car audio systems are way better.- Vocal quality could be better. Could it be the quality of the mics?- Volume range does get loud (as other reviews have indicated) - although not necessarily a good type of loud for karaoke. Might be more suitable loudness for PA system.- Hole on back does not appear to channel any bass to reflect off wall.- Speaker directionality not as good. Doesn't fill room. When on (carpeted) floor, the speakers are not intense. Placed on table, the sound is better. Might need speaker stand.-- No indent handles on left and right sides to lift with two hands. There is one indent handle on the back about 2/3 height up molded into the body that works for single handed lifting and carrying, but it has ribs on the inside which is uncomfortable on the fingers.THE UGLY- Not a dealbreaker, but there is an annoying buzz from the speakers when there is no audio input which you notice when getting ready and in between songs.RECOMMENDATION:- Vision issues? Like clear and immersive sound? You could do better, but at a higher price point.- Just want to have fun? This could be the ticket.- Out-of-Box-Experience Rating 7/10.AUTHCODE 120320VS0808

Lightweight and Highly Portable PA System for Small Venue Live Gigs
Although I didn’t purchase this VeGue Karaoke Machine to use for karaoke, I found that it would clearly serve that purpose quite well. Instead, I was looking for a lightweight and highly portable PA system to perform live vocals, guitars and keyboard gigs (with or without using audio backing tracks) at smaller venues such as bar rooms, house parties, patio/pool parties, etc. For these smaller venue live gigs, my much larger/more powerful PA sound system and all the stage gear (i.e., instrument amps, wired microphones, PA mains/subs speakers, mixer board, floor monitors, cables, etc.) that goes with that kind of set-up is overkill and unnecessary. Appearing to be a highly portable all-in-one PA system with Bluetooth, wireless microphones, guitar/instrument/microphone inputs and a mixer capability, this VeGue PA system could greatly reduce the amount of stage gear I would have to load up and take to smaller venues and set up (and then tear down afterwards). So, I purchased this PA system based on its specifications and customer reviews hoping it would project live sound professional enough for these kinds of smaller live gigs. As it turned out, I found it did the job quite well!I used this VeGue PA system recently to perform a 3-hour live gig at an indoor holiday office party in a banquet room for 30-40 people. I used my pedal board to get all the effects I needed from my acoustic and electric guitars by plugging my pedal board out cable directly into the VeGue PA system guitar input. For this gig, I used custom backing tracks sent to the VeGue PA system via Bluetooth controlled from a Lenovo tablet and I used the VeGue UHF wireless microphone for my vocals...all on battery power for the entire gig with plenty of battery power to spare. The only venue power I needed was for my pedal board. The PA system was mounted on a standard speaker stand positioned such that I could monitor the sound while playing, but also projected toward the group in attendance. The audience feedback was that the PA system projected a balanced mix of my vocals, guitars and backing tracks clearly and with plenty of volume throughout the venue. With this experience, I now know I have a suitable alternative sound/PA system available for smaller venue live gigs. Thus, I’ve rated it 5 stars and I recommend this VeGue PA system for these or similar purposes as well as for karaoke.
