Don't waste your money!
I have had a few chargers over the years but none as bad as this one. The first time I used it the lid cracked, it's very flimsy. I read the instructions and could not believe the charging times! 17.5hrs for AA batteries and 25hrs for a C/ D. That is ridiculous! There are 2 red lights which go on when there are batteries charging, does not tell you when it's fully charged. Now it's not working at all...utter rubbish! Very disappointed!

Use two hands.
A well established design but to get the small metal pins to withdraw to allow a D-size battery into the slot as the charger is designed for, the pins have a tendency to bend unless you use two hands. One hand to pull the pin back and the to push the battery into place. Frequent bending at the base of the pins may cause them to snap rendering that section of the charger useless.

Good value but very basic
This unit seemed very popular and cheap. It works ok, but be aware of the following basic nature of its operation:- You can only charge batteries in pairs - it will not charge just one battery- there is no automatic shut off when batteries are fully charged; you are told to calculate the charge time from battery capacity and size and then not leave it powered up charging for more than twice that time to prevent damage to batteries.After a little use I decided this was too much faff and bought Duracell universal charger.

Worst charger I've bought
The lid comes off every time you put a battery in the compartments, very stiff to move the parts to slot a battery in, and didn't charge up new batteries fully even when they had been on charge for more that 25 hours. Well known brand name batteries were used in this.Doesn't indicate when charged or how much.Bought a different charger only to find the batteries were only half charged.

Confusing product
Does it charge? YesDoes it charge efficiently? Impossible to say with scientific trials. It has an indicator light to show its plugged in, but it never cganges to show fully charged.It is not cheap and I'm a little disappointed
