Great 18” bandsaw.
I did a lot of online research before upgrading my bandsaw from my old 14” model. This Jet bandsaw was consistently reviewed at or near the top for 18” models. It arrived in a large wooden crate that had an eyebolt on the top to lift it if you have a hoist. I didn’t, so three friends and I walked it into my shop. It took about 2 hours to assemble it and only the lower roller assembly is a bit tricky to adjust. The table takes 2 people to install, since it weighs over 50 lbs. I had to get an adapter to fit my old-style 220 volt outlet. This thing is a serious machine compared to my old Delta 14”. It is much sturdier and more heavily built, with tighter tolerances and more logical adjustments. It cuts like a knife through butter, and the blades seem to last longer, perhaps because they are 150” and because they track so well, the tension mechanism is easy to adjust properly, and the rollers work well. Ripping and resawing is very accurate. The only thing that bothers me is that it makes a brief screeching noise when it starts up. Since I can find nothing that seems to be adjusted improperly, I’m just going to live with it.

Good saw with a few issues.
Like the saw and most everything about it. Be prepared for a massive job moving it from crate to shop as it weighs in at over 500lbs. It is too tall for something like an engine hoist. After a full day of assembly and dialing all the parts in to precision (generally pretty straightforward) I discovered that it shipped with a NEMA 6-15 plug rather than a 30P (as all my 220v receptacles are). So, I had to find, order (on Amazon of course) and wait for an adapter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07732ZRTL?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1).After that arrived, I finally got to test it out. Runs very well. However, it comes equipped with a very wide resaw blade that struggles with nearly everything I run through it. Basically, the OEM blade is trash. I'm waiting on some new blades I've ordered and hope that will improve performance. The materials are high quality otherwise. The thing is quite solid and a huge step up from my 14" shop fox. None of my issues are particularly difficult to overcome, just wasn't a "ready out of the box" result for me.

I love this saw
I have been cutting mahogany into veneer strips 6" wide with the blade that came with it.This saw does not have a brake, but none of my saws have brakes. Remember shop safety.

I guess I am stuck with this one.
Talked to a few people about this saw before I made the jump from my 1960 Rockwell 14". A few things. #1 big one - the table those it is big will not set parallel with the blade. Pushed as far as it will go in that direction it get within 3/16". I guess I am going to have to drill out 2 of the thru bolt holes. #2 There is not a lock on the blade tension knob adjustment and wonder how it will hold with vibration. #3 tool free adjustment on the guides, I am supposing that if your fingers are big and the space to tight you will have to use a tool. I bought it from CPO because they were the seller here but I could not select my shipping option - drop gate. I will study a little longer before I get my vacuum system.

This is an excellent 18" band saw! My only complaint is that there is no break..

Best investment to date
Love this bandsaw. I spent a hundred hours or so researching different saws trying to find the perfect balance between power, size, and affordability. I have a small shop and couldn’t accommodate a big 18” or bigger bandsaw. But I plan on doing a lot of re-sawing and cutting large bowl blanks. So while I have only a small space available I needed a saw that could pack a punch. I considered most saws on the market and dug through many forums. I looked at the laguna 14 BX and laguna 14” SUV, I looked at them from every angle. I wound up focusing on 4 things, Horsepower, table size, blade length(keeps the blade cool and helps it cut true) , and machine weight (higher weight helps reduce vibration and keep it steady). On all 4 areas no other 14-16 inch saw could compare to this Jet. I have now owned mine for 4 months. It was very simple to set up, it is beastie. Everything on it is built to last. Absolutely no complaints. I’m normally very picky when it comes to tools. But I really have nothing bad to say about this machine. It is now the most used and loved tool in my shop.
