I'm a huge foodie and home cook, and I especially love Asian food. I didn't eat a lot of tofu until now. Not because I didn't like it but because it was so tricky to drain/press at first. But this thing fixes that problem! It's a bit tricky to put together if you've never used one, but it comes with instructions. And once you've used it a couple times, it's super easy to use. Best of all, it works great and gets every ounce of water out of the tofu. Now I use it all the time! It's a bit bulky, so make sure you have room in your pantry. Cleaning in the dish washer is super easy. You don't have to take it apart or anything. Just put it straight in there. It's made of bamboo, which is dish washer safe. I 100% recommend.

I love this tofu press. Before I assembled it, I conditioned the bamboo with food grade mineral oil, as recommended by the manufacturer and let it sit overnight. It had simple instructions on the box to assemble the press. It took only a couple of minutes. It is very solid and large enough for the blocks of tofu sold at our local markets, which are about 14oz. This press has completely eliminated the bother of pressing tofu under a iron frying pan etc. This takes up very little room, works perfectly and I recommend it to everyone. Excellent seller. I could not be more pleased with this purchase.

I got it yesterday. The assembly illustrations are perfect! The construction is solid, and the piece is actually quite beautiful. There is a beautiful shot of dark bamboo through the light, resulting in a tool that could easily pass for a sculpture. Right now, it has a home on my counter, and I will fight anyone who tries to make me move it. I was also delighted to be surprised by a matching, and impressively high quality (not to mention, incredibly sharp) knife. I am very happy I bought this!

Easy to assemble and looks nice. I want to like tofu so I hope using this helps me improve the texture of my fried tofu. It is another kitchen gadget taking up space (really it isn't huge but I am stingy with counter and cupboard space) so whether I keep it or not depends on if I can justify its place by eating more tofu. Time will tell.

I love this tofu press. For my very first one, I decided to pay a little extra for this hardy bamboo design because the cheap plastic ones looked like they don't hold up. This one allows you to stack two blocks of tofu at a time, and the customizable screws allow you to control the draining speed.It fits in nicely with my chopping blocks, and bamboo utensil holders on my countertop. It looks so good, that I don't dare hide it away in the cupboard. I don't really mind the "finger strain" of tightening the screws. I'm happy enough to have fully pressed tofu in 15 minutes! The one drawback is that the underside of the drain level is prone to tiny splinters. This won't affect the food at all because this is the bottom portion that comes in contact with the water basin. But still, it would be nice if this didn't happen.The tofu press was easy to assemble and use. It's also very easy to clean. Instead of breaking the whole thing down each, I wash it, fully assembled, with a warm soapy sponge and warm running water. It dries very quickly as well.**********UPDATE: The catch basin split in two one day unexpectedly. I have no explanation for this. But maybe it had something to do with water and internal moisture.

UPDATE: The seller reached out and offered a full refund. I accepted and received it. Now the seller has been repeatedly emailing me and trying to bribe me with a gift card so that I change this review from 1 star to 5 star. I stand by my initial rating because the item was defective and poor quality. Think twice about the 5 star ratings for this product and don't buy!!___________________________________This comes unseasoned. After spending days and hours oiling this up including all the grooves and cracks, it still kept leaking. Upon closer inspection, there's a long crack in the bamboo of the base. I had used harder oiling for seasoning and was going to try adding more to the base with mineral oil this time. The mineral oil leaked right through and I found the crack. It's now too late for me to return and I don't need more mess in my kitchen. This is going into the trash because I don't even want to see this huge disappointment!!! Waste of $20!!! Buy plastic instead like I'm going to now.

Updated Review: Great Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction Experience! ! I originally bought the Bamboo press. Though I liked it - and still use it - I thought it could use some improvements and mentioned them in my original review. The customer service team saw my review, contacted me, and after discussing a few options the sent me the Plastic model to try.I really like it and I'm giving it 5-stars.I'm also amazed by the focus and effort the company put in to make sure I was not simply a satisfied customer - but a DELIGHTED customer. If I could review the company - I'd give them 5 stars too!
