Sounds very natural, but very low gain.
I bought this to amplify an Aerisi Tricone steel-bodied resonator guitar. Sounds very natural with mic positioned in the top grill holes.I was hoping for a bit more gain from an active pickup, though. I understand it's basically a small condenser mic, as opposed to a piezo. I have to have its volume cranked, as well as my Roland's input volume, to get a decent level. If gain wad better I'd give it a solid 5 stars.I do like the portability of this little guy. I will try it on my ukes and other guitars for grins. This would be a great pickup to have on hand for open mic hosts who need to amplify/mic up played who don't have pickups on their guitars.Can't speak to battery life but, I haven't drained it yet after about 2 weeks of moderate use.
