I purchased my current unit in March of this year to replace an older one that was the same. I’d had the first one for a couple of years and then it stopped turning off at a set time in the evening so I bought the new one. Yesterday we had a power outage that lasted 10 hours. I was sure I would have to reprogram the timers, which is a bit tedious to do, but was delighted to see it was not necessary. It’s as though the unit has a battery back-up, but I don’t think it does. This is the first time I haven’t had to reprogram the timer after a power outage. So happy!

Received the transformer with minor physical defects (scratches), although it operated just fine. I let the supplier know about the blemishes. They overnighted me a new one, no questions asked. Incredible communication from the rep, Jody. What a great guy. Second transformer arrived in perfect condition. Purring like a 300w kitten right meow.

Bought this to replace the 200 watt version of this that I've had for years because I plan on expanding the number of lights in my yard. The old unit is still going strong and has been very reliable which is why I bought the same brand. The transformer is easy to program and has many options on how you can set your lights to turn on and off. Keep in mind that the longer your wire runs the dimmer the lights will be towards the end of the run. I've got a total of 240 watts of lights connected to it and it's working just fine.

This one replaced a Malibu 300 watt power pack I had installed back in 2012. These things are pretty bullit-proof. Simple instillation (attach wires, hang on wall, plug in, and lights work). Would recommend 100%. Zero issues.

This item stopped working within 1 year. The item description claims it has a 1 year warranty however, the company Malibu Lighting has gone bankrupt. So no one will be able to get support or a warranty for this product. Here was the response I received.Malibu Lighting owned by Brinkman Corporation went out of business and all remaining inventory and pallets of returned items came up for bankruptcy auction on Feb 17th 2016. Many of these products are now found on the big huge web site sold by companies that purchased this old inventory some made as far back as 2009. If you are looking for warranty support that is no longer available. The companies that sell the product are not lighting companies, just companies trying to make a quick buck and they will not be there to support you. Soon they they will disappear.The Malibu digital landscape transformers have a small battery attached to the circuit board that maintains the program. Once this battery fails it cannot be replaced and your transformer will often just fail.

I bought the Malibu 300 W transformer to replace an older model Malibu 300 W transformer. The old transformer apparently had a short because it kept blowing the circuit breaker on the outlet every time I plugged it in, even with no load attached to the transformer. I replace the old transformer with a new one with the same brand (Malibu) because I figured it would be easy to reconnect the light sensor. Also the old tranformer had two sets of connections screws for two electrical wiring runs of lights. The light sensor was the same so I didn’t have to take down the old one from the side of the house. But disappointingly, the new 300 W transformer only has one pair connection screws for one run of lights. Fortunately I was able to solve this by ordering some ring connectors for the wire ends and was able to get two connectors on each screw. So far it’s working great.

It's vented and in the desert, with 100°+ a regular occurrence, it's a huge plus. Next it has a door to protect the controls & screen for sunlight. My old one the screen cracked and was burnt so you could not read the program.

This is my second time purchasing this item. I like the ease of connections and it's not that difficult to program. It seems well designed in that it's waterproof yet not that difficult to open up to control. I also like that it has a lot of power 300 W!
