TASTY, Easy to use, only drawback is saltiness for us seniors
We enjoyed the texture and taste of our 'burgers' and the addition of this product's browned crumbles to a noodle casserole. However, as seniors on a low-salt meal plan, we'd rather add our own salt than risk the amount built-into one serving of this meat-substitute. Unlikely to use it again, for that reason alone.

Must have in pantry!
I had come across these by chance on Amazon when looking up vegan items to try. I felt intrigued because typically I would have frozen grounds ready for recipes .I forgot I had them but I was running low on groceries one day and found them. I made quick pasta with them and they were fantastic. These were so easy to reconstitute, just add oil and water according to the package and mix. They're a good base to soak up additional flavours I've had them in pasta, and I've even made vegan cabbage rolls with them.I will def be purchasing as dry goods tend to last longer and they should always be in a vegan pantry!

USE COLD WATER ONLY
Original review:Well I followed the instructions, made a couple of burger patties, and threw them in a pan, cooked both sides, I noticed they are a bit wet still even after forming a crust on both sides, the inside was not entirely unlike cat food, totally gross, IDK how anyone can eat this. It does NOT make firm burgers, it makes mushy gross cat food texture burgers, Throwing the rest away. Oh and it doesn't taste bad I just cant get past the texture.UPDATE: The people from KAPPA FOODS reached out to me after reading the review, and asked me some questions about how I prepared the DIY Plant Burger, and I replied HOT water and they replied I should use cold water, the colder the better, and would I like to try it again, they were kind enough to take their time to send me another package of the DIY Plant Burger free of charge, to try with cold water, and I prepared it using cold water from the fridge, then i let it stand in the fridge for half an hour, to my surprise it was not mushy or wet at all, and made a much better textured burger patty that was quite firm and edible, so 5 stars for this product and KAPPA FOODS for caring enough to change my mind and correct my mistake, only use COLD WATER when preparing this, they also said they would be adding that to the instructions, So if you want to try some DIY Plant Burger give this stuff a try, you will be pleasantly surprised, it defiantly cant replace real meat but its not a bad product and it is good to have in the cupboard because it likely lasts forever.

Cheap, convenient, and takes whatever shape you want
I came across this product on an Instagram ad, and was immediately intrigued by a plant-based meat alternative where you add your own oil and water. Beyond Meat is one of my favourite burgers, but it can get a bit pricey. At $13 for the equivalent of 8 patties, this product had already beat them at that. When it arrived, I was impressed by the simple packaging and instructions, where in measurements for oil and water are provided. I mixed everything together in a big bowl, and let sit as instructed. My first meal was just a simple sandwich, and although I didn't add spices to the mix, it's easy to incorporate and add another flavor profile. The pre-seasoned taste of the mix is good though, I would only say it was a bit too salty. On the pan, the meat maintained its shape well, and I barely had to add oil to the pan itself. In terms of texture and taste, it is definitely on the better side of meat alternatives, which a consistency similar to a beef burger.I would really recommend this to anyone trying to transition to a vegan diet, or already vegan and simply looking for a quick and convenient meat alternative, which can take any shape you want to. At this price point, i really don't think you can find anything better :). Excited to see where this company goes in the future !
