Great Value, Timeless Design
We're doing a reno, a major part of which is changing out all the 50-year-old wall plates. It is harder than you would think, finding a decent wallplate that's not cutesy or made of flimsy plastic. These wallplates are really nice. Sturdy and well-made, and they look terrific on the wall. This one's design seems timeless.Best of all, they don't cost a fortune. I know it's kind of weird to profess wall plate love, but these Brainerd switchplates are really kinda wonderful.

High quality & very attractive
Just painted a room dark brown and needed to swap out the switchplates. These are perfect. Great color, and they look quite expensive, although they are very reasonably priced. Very pleased with this purchase. They were easy to install and changed the whole look of the room. Thumbs up!

More Ivory than White - But Nice
These are beautiful... but listing an accurate color is SO important... These were advertised as "white" but are much more of an ivory or antiqued white. Again - super important when you are trying to match them to white trim or other white light/electrical plates in the room. Fortunately, the problem was really easy to resolve with a can of white spray paint. Just not a step I should have had to taken. Would advise you guys to use a more accurate color description like "ivory", "off-white", "cream", etc. otherwise, they are a nice shape and seem well made.

50 Shades of White
Some reviews state the 'white' is not really 'white' & have given this switchplate a low-star rating. I have to ponder however: how do you define white? In physics, white is not a color because it has no specific wavelength. It contains all wavelengths of visible light. It's not defined as a color because it's the sum of & reflects all possible colors. Hundreds of hue combinations exist.Ok. So even when used to simply define white as a pigment color, it's really not simple at all. It leaves room for individual perception & is subjective- conjectured at best & needs further description or inquiry: snow white, milky white, off-white: (blue, gray, yellow?), decorator's white, etc. And if an exact pigment of white is needed & the descriptor is vague we should prod further. I mean even "basic" white for doors, trim & ceiling varies, & then varies with manufacturer.Point is, if we don't take this into consideration does it warrant a negative review on this aspect alone? Perhaps. What is this star-rating guide based on anyway? It's subjective. How many stars to take off or not take off- also subjective. IMO, I clearly see a white color differentiation in the picture simply by its contrast against the background. So its color in person held no bearing on the superiority or inferiority of the product itself with regard to design, quality or durability.I would attempt to further describe this white pigment as an off-white, but not gray- more of a creamy- like a melted buttercream or eggnog. Shabby-esque. Almost "Designer White" in comparison to a famous label paint swatch. Overall, I respect its tonal uniqueness. An instant upgrade to boring, run of the mill, cookie-cutter switchplates.Inside scoop: If you use a power drill & it slips or you over-tighten, it seems the paint on the screws chip easily. I also scratched a switchplate that way. This affects it's durability in my opinion. But once on they've held up well, no further durability issues & easy to clean.Update: The raised architectural design in the duplex outlet configuration makes it difficult if impossible to plug-in say, air fresheners or some phone chargers, especially if you don't want to take up both outlets. You'll have to use an extension cord or power strip in some cases. I apologize for the lighting in my picture. It makes the off-white look... off, off-white.

NOT wood
All descriptions say the wall plate is wood/ the material is wood. That and the style is why I ordered it. But, it's plastic. I wanted to return it, but we decided against the hassle of returning it and re-ordering. You can buy solid metal and wood for the same price from several other company's. Just thought people should know.

Looks awesome
This arrived very quickly and looks great! True to the picture- it is a crisp white which is what I wanted. I had a basic light switch before and this is a bit thicker so the switches fit a little further back- just be aware. That being said it doesn't affect operation at all. It is not matte at all- which it looks somewhat in the picture it is a glossy bright white color. Looks fantastic and makes a big difference. A+

Not true white.
These are high-quality switchplates and look great on the wall, but they are NOT true white, they are cream. This was perfect for my room, but they don't look as pictured.

These are not wood and they stink to the high heaven of some chemicals. I was expecting a high quality product because of the price but this is one product that looks much better on line than in the person. They are clearly not white either. They are off white even though they are packaged as white. Sent them back.
