40 Days of Hebrew Devotions (All Books by Dr. Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg Book 3)

I've only spent time with the first few discussions and devotions. However, from what I know of Hebrew, the lessons on Hebrew vocabulary are both accurate and insightful. I recommend this book to all Christians pondering the Jewish roots of the Old and New Testaments.

I bought the kindle version of this book and I read it with passion. It’s well written and will inspire anyone who desires intimacy with God. You will not regret buying it.

A new devotional with texts of Hebrew words by Dr. Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg, Prof. Pinchas Shir, & Mr/Ms Jaime Purcell, is a great way to start one's day. This book, 40 DAYS of HEBREW DEVOTIONS, focuses on one daily Bible passage with a short discussion of significant Hebrew words: including the Biblical Hebrew Alpha Bet, the transliteration of pronunciation, & the meanings, often multiple, in English; a prayer using a Hebrew communal format ends the day's devotional. To read in one sitting (as I did last night for starters) & to use it as a daily devotional for 40 days or more, becomes a spiritual & intellectual journey, providing greater insights into these Scriptures than previously known. I recommend it for persons of either Jewish or Christian faiths or even people who are interested in historical cultural understanding. This devotional is geared for all levels of educational/professional experience. As matter of fact, I like the text so well, that I plan to order copies as gifts to friends, relatives, & colleagues. For myself, I especially like focusing on one Hebrew word: to try to learn it, & to be able to recognize it in other Hebrew texts. It is a small goal, hence I'll never be a Biblical scholar. It does provide, however, a little step nearer the Divine experience: to wonder & to appreciate. In short, this devotional is a good selection to consider for one's own deeper study or as a gift to encourage another on such a path.

This wasn’t at all what I thought it would be, but I’m so glad. It was so much more. I learned so much in this 40 days. And feel like this is such a blessing to any Christ Followers library.

Spite the importance of the topic the content streams smooth, hence you have a chance to learn in a very relaxed context. Besides talking style emerges, hence it's pretty much an auditive experience, but through your eyes. Suggested to everyone, starting by the youngest learners.

It is easy to fit each days devotion into my journey focusing on lent and its meaning in my life. I highly recommend it to.everyone desiring to expand on their understanding of scripture and the depth of Hebrew meaning.

This is a great tool for learning the Hebrew reason why and what. The only thing I had difficulty with was some of the typos and grammar, but that’s just me. I am rather OCD when it comes to grammar. But if you want to learn the Hebrew traditions, I believe this is a good start and highly recommend it.

I have a number of this authors books, his style of writing and content is warm and clear. Yet leaves you with a thought that is deeply profound and difficult to put the book down. In this book, 40 days, each day has an opening scripture, thought, developement, personal faith challenge and prayer. A great way to start the day, and always leaves you wanting more. Lets hope he is working on a 365 days of devotions book...

This book is a truly blessing to me. The deeper meaning of words we take for granted are helping me to see the related scriptures in a new way. Thank you Dr. Eli, may G-D continue to bless the works of your hands.

This book and others written by Eli Is exactly what I hoped and prayed to find. His insights are marvellous and his way of making the original Hebrew text accesible and understandable to ordinary people is beautiful. I have learned so much and plan to read everything he has written. I have been a believer 40 yrs... I love the bible but now I love it even more.

Great devotional book, I’m a 20 year old Messianic Jew, I would prefer if the prayers finished in Melech Moshiach Yeshua’s name, but I add that myself. Great book with context, information and prayer

Idiomatic expressions within the cited passages offer insight and a greater depth in understanding the biblical text. I would recommend this devotional for a daily quiet time.
