Sauder Canal Street Anywhere Console, For TV's up to 42", Northern Oak finish

I bought this along with 2 matching side tables. I am very impressed! First the table is extremely well made and once put together it feels very substantial. It looks far more expensive than it cost. One of the problems I've seen with furniture that have to be put together is the instructions are usually lacking. Not the case here! The instructions are excellent. Each part is clearly labeled. All of the screws needed for this unit are packed in plastic bags according the step you need them in the process. For example, all of the screws needed for step 1 are in a bag labeled "1" and so on. It makes putting the item together very easy. Also, it is engineered extremely well. All of the holes line up and the only tool needed to put them together is a screwdriver. Part of the installation requires putting a weight on the bottom of the table. That weight helps to make the table feel "heavy" and "substantial" and it makes it very stable. But the most important feature is that it looks great. I would highly recommend this table.

The product was well packed. The instructions were very detailed and all parts were lettered or numbered. The color was slightly darker than the picture, which was great!. It has a weight that attaches to the bottom which makes if very sturdy. The bottom legs also were padded, so no scratches on our bamboo floor. Looks great in our house

Easy to put together. Quality is very good. Great furniture addition because the it's not too big or too small; every versitle. I would highly recommend it!

I really like this item assembled and I paired it with some IKEA baskets I had for storage.It was fairly easy to assemble although the directions I got were a little faint so they were hard to read.It comes with this crazy weight to attach to the underneath of the bottom shelf, which I did attach but then removed as I’m only using it for 10-15 lbs of stuff total. If you’re putting a TV and other heavy items on it make sure you don’t exceed the maximum weight and definitely put the stabilizing weight under the bottom shelf as instructed.Really good quality for the money too!

This is a nice piece for the cost. It was very well packaged, including a complete outer plastic wrap around the whole box, which was much appreciated since it was delivered during a massive snow storm and stayed outside for a few days while I was traveling, so it would have gotten very wet had it not been in plastic. When I opened it the package was 100% dry. The package is VERY heavy, as is the table itself. Unless you are very strong and reasonably tall, you are going to need help (a dolly or a person) wrestling this thing into the house. Much more substantial than I expected for inexpensive furniture.The laminate is a gray/brown (more gray than brown) with faux wood detail and distressing to make it look weathered, and it looks reasonably lifelike, but no one would be fooled if they looked closely or touched the surface. Assembly instructions are GREAT - all pieces are clearly labeled, hardware is in individual packages by type, and are numbered in the order in which you need them. All holes lined up PERFECTLY. I am a small woman and assembled it alone. I was worried about how heavy some of the pieces are, thinking it would be hard to hold them in place and also attach them, but it was no problem at all. It took me about an hour, but I was interrupted several times - I probably could have finished in 30-40 minutes if I had worked straight through. So all in all I was super impressed by the planning and quality that went into the "buildability" of this piece. I would recommend putting felt pads on the feet, since the unit is so heavy, and you would not want to be moving it across wood floors in particular without some protection. Once assembled, the piece is quite sturdy. Much of the weight comes form a very substantial block that mounts on the bottom of the lowest shelf. I believe the purpose of the block is to stabilize the piece, and it is quite effective. I am putting this in a vacation rental property where I am quite careful not to put any furniture that I think children could easily tip over when running around, and I am comfortable that this piece will hold up to renters in terms of tip-over risk, provided that nobody tries to climb it.The only flaw in the piece is that front edge of one shelf was very slightly damaged when I unpacked it, and this caused the laminate to peel back (about 1/4 to 1/2' in length), and it was noticeable because the material underneath is much lighter than the laminate finish. I was able to touch it up with a black marker which I quickly smudged and rubbed in to lighten it, and now it just looks distressed and part of the design. However, I am a little concerned that it got dinged despite the excellent packaging, and that such a tiny ding would cause the laminate to peel back so much. It makes me wonder how this will hold up to wear and tear. This is the reason for four stars instead of five. Nonetheless, I am pleased enough that I'm going to take a chance and order some more pieces from this collection.Update, four years later: just came across this review I wrote years ago. The piece has held up to LOTS of vacation renters and their children, dogs, drunken friends etc. Still looks as good as new.

I love this table - quick shipment, great item and easy to put together. A bit heavy for me to drag inside (UPS left by the curb and the box was heavily damaged but the item was just fine) but I managed because I couldn't wait to put it together. I'm using it in the kitchen as a table for my baking items (KitchenAid Mixer, Vitamix Blender, tray of sugar/flours and lots of cook books). Everything all together - looks professional but everything is out of my way when I don't need them. I could also see using by my front door so it's versatile.

I love, Love this console, bought it for my daughter and she was amazed at the prize... Looked fabulous! Very sturdy,beautiful color, and amazed that we could fit so much on it! Not hard to assembly , we did it together took 20 minutes

I really like this bookcase/tv stand/shelving unit.It seems pretty sturdy. I didn't even think about it, but I comes with a hidden weight to keep it balanced. Easy to assemble. I had minimal help from my husband.I especially love the industrial look.
