Dolphins and Orca Whales sing out among the sound of waves and Medwyn's delicate guitars, flute, keyboards and percussion. Six years after the acclaimed "The Way of the Dolphin" album. Medwyn has revisited the ocean to carry us on a totally new voyage of discovery above and below the waves. The relaxing pace and sensitivity of this emotive, beautiful album creates an amazing sense of freedom and tranquillity. It is a masterpiece of heart-rending melodies interlaced with the natural sounds and harmony of the Ocean.

A masterpiece of heart-rending melodies
"The Way of the Ocean" was first released on a CD by the label New World Music in 1998. It was re-released on a CD in 2003. It is also available as an MP3 download. There are seven instrumental tracks on this album, and the total running time is about 46 minutes. The artist Medwyn Goodall (who is mostly associated with New Age music) was born in Yorkshire, England, in 1961. Today he lives in Cornwall in the south west of England. He is a prolific composer and musician: to date he has recorded more than 75 albums. Each album has a theme, in this case dolphins, Orca whales and the ocean in which they live.Goodall plays several musical instruments: the guitar, the flute, the pan-pipe, keyboads, etc. With his acoustic guitar he can create a Spanish flavour; with his pan-pipe a Latin American flavour; and with his keyboards he can combine these flavours. All tracks on this album are written, arranged, mixed and produced by him at the Riverwood Studios. Here are the titles of the seven tracks:# 1. Sweet Wilderness# 2. Sanctuary# 3. Still Waters Run Deep# 4. Dolphin Companion# 5. Albatross# 6. Light on a Silver Sea# 7. Call of the OceanThe CD from New World Music comes with sleeve notes which you can take out and fold out. Here you will find some information about the artist and the musical instruments he has used on this album. On the back of the jewel case there is a message from New World Music:"Dolphins and Orca whales sing out among the sound of waves and Medwyn's delicate guitars, flute, keyboards and percussion. Six years after the acclaimed 'The Way of the Dolphin' album, Medwyn has revisited the ocean to carry us on a totally new voyage of discovery above and below the waves. The relaxing pace and sensitivity of this emotive, beautiful album creates an amazing sense of freedom and tranquillity. It is a masterpiece of heart-rending melodies interlaced with the natural sounds and harmony of the ocean."These are grand words, but we can understand that the record company wants to use grand words to praise the work of an artist who is on their label. To a certain extent I can agree with these words. This album can be described as "a masterpiece of heart-rending melodies." But some tracks are better than others. In my opinion, tracks # 2, 4 and 5 deserve five stars, while tracks # 1, 3, 6 and 7 deserve only three stars. For this reason I think the album as a whole deserves a rating of four stars.
