Dont buy used
Edelbrock are my favorite carbs, i bought this one as an amazon used carb...bad idea, someone had installed it then taken it apart, they lost all the keepers for the actuator rods and messed up the acceleratpr pump, what a mess, i got it fixed and now its fine, but buy the new ones...

Throttle shaft play
I installed the carburetor on my truck and while I was fiddling with the throttle linkage, I noticed gas almost pouring out of the side of the throttle shaft. I gave the shaft a wiggle and there was so much play it was unbelievable. I got online to see if they offer bushings to fix the play - nope. Unlike Holley, Edelbrock doesn’t have a fix for this problem. Based on what I saw online, this is an extremely common issue with Edelbrock carbs and there is no fix. Unbelievable. So now I’m out 400 bucks. I will never buy another Edelbrock.

Good product, but Amazon is using wrong Pictures (No Filter Included)
Amazon is using picture from 1406, which includes a fuel filter & Clamps. The 1404 does not include a filter clamp assembly and this is straight from Edelbrock support line. The DVD is also an ancient thing according to the rep.

SBC 283
Installed on a sbc 283 engine in a 1966 c10 truck ( replaced the old quadrajet carb). Required an intake manifold adapter plate and a new fuel line kit due to fuel line to air filter interference. A few small adjustments to idle screw and carburetor performed nicely. Difficulty starting after 30+ minutes of sitting. Appears fuel is evaporating out of carb. I will install a non metallic carb plate made by Edelbrock to try and correct the issue (perhaps the engine heat will not transfer to the carburetor causing fuel evaporation). Overall it looks great, performs well and was easy to install.
