Overall good system but not recommended for remote app users.
I’ve had this product for couple weeks now and I’ve installed half of my cameras with little ease. Wireless range and connectivity are good. I am satisfied with the camera quality and resolution overall. What I am not satisfied with, and the main reason for my three star review, is that the app “ipPro” does not work well. It does allow me to go in and see live video feed and that works well. It does give me the alarms through the app when motion is detected, but when you go into the app to view these alarms and to see the recorded motion, it always tells me there are no alarms present. It also will not allow me to view any play back Info, again through the app. When trying to do so I get a message saying “already play the recording file of the day, please choose other date”. For the remote viewing aspect of it, which is what I was after, I would not recommend this product. Again this unhappiness is just over the remote features through the ipPro app on my iOS. As far as the NVR system goes, I am pleased with its functionality. It’s not the most user friendly and the book and video tutorials do not go into enough detail (for me) as far as the different settings or options that are available and what exactly they do. It does work well and play back on it works great. If your looking for a plug and play system with minimal “set up”, it works good as far as that goes. I have been in contact with customer service via emai in regards to the lack of functionality while in the ipPro app, and they responded within a day or two, but were not helpful in resolving issues as of yet. I will have to call I suppose. My hope is that eventually the app or system software will get upgraded at some point and the issue repaired. I’ll post any changes or progress as they come.

Range and wireless connection is much better than I expected given some of the reviews. Great Buy
For the money, this is an outstanding camera system. Very easy to set up and the wireless range to the NVR is impressive. The Day image is very good and the night image is good to about the recommended distance. (65 ft) I can see well beyond that just not enough detail to make out a face without additional lighting. I have two cameras that are easily 75 feet away through 2 walls, 1 an exterior brick wall and I still have 4 of 5 bars of signal. I have one camera application that required one of the 2 included extension antennas to get it up to 4 bars. I will also admit that I tried 4 different NVR locations before settling on the best spot. One of the spots I thought this would do quite well (Very centralized and higher than most of the cameras) ended up giving a very poor signal on a few of the cameras, which were actually fairly close. Box and antenna position does make quite a difference. I tested my cameras to work and pair with the box and then placed them in the approx locations I wanted them. I then moved the box to different locations to see where it would work best. The nice thing about the wireless system is I only have to run data cables from the NVR to the router. The cameras require local power but this was no issue for me as I had either lighting fixtures, which I was able to use adapters on or outlets close to all 8 mount locations.

Great value for the money
In my case I am trying to handicap this review because I am comparing this $300 camera system to a nearly $3000 camera system we use at work.Obviously the system I use at work is amazing however you must take Price into consideration. This does have motion tracking and it supposed to detect humans however it thinks anything that moves including a tree branch is a human. All in all set up was easy just plug in the cameras pointing the antenna straight up and it does the rest. The quality of the image is pretty good. You can definitely see who is outside when you’re looking through these cameras. The mobile app works well and you can login and see it from anywhere in the world.Tech-support is amazing.

Not great for catching intruders
I bought and installed this at work to try to record people trespassing and dumping old furniture and appliances on our property at work. The initial set-up was OK and I had all 8 cameras working. We had four incidents so far: 1 person dumped a mattress and some trash, 1 person dumped an old TV, 1 person walked onto the parking lot in broad daylight and stole a winter coat out of a car and we had one person throw a brick through a plate glass door.In all instances, a camera was pointed right at the action. Only two times did we get video of the event. For the TV and the brick for some reason there is no video. Either the camera stopped working or the event didn't record. For the mattress the video was not clear enough to identify the license plate of the vehicle even though it was pointed right at it.For the car break in two cameras were pointed right at the vehicle and the path the person took to get to and from the car, but the jerkiness of the video recording made it impossible to see who it was. Also, even though the camera was pointing right at the car there's no clear picture of the person breaking in.Now, less than one year after install, 4 of the 8 cameras no longer work and I can't figure out why.Maybe this isn't a good system for what I'm trying to do with it, but the cameras cutting in and out and now half of them not working is not good. Also, trying to find video of someone entering the property is tedious and time consuming. There doesn't appear to be a way to simply choose a camera and then watch video in fast motion. Going back through video to see what happened is almost an exercise in futility, especially if the cameras seem to go blank at random times. It took hours to find the two incidents recorded only to realize that there is no usable video. It also took several hours to figure out that there was no recording of the other two incidents.Again, maybe I'm expecting too much of this system, but it failed to do what I bought it for and it's very difficult and time consuming to use.

friar for its price range.
ill start by thanking the review by Luke "The very first thing to do is plug in your cameras and write down the camera channel number...1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8" this has saved me much aggravation and time. The good: 8 cams 2Tb drive , 90% pre configured, tech support (they are amazing fast and know the system well)The bad: no remote configurations (you can only do it directly with the mouse), camera view layout (static cam 1 will always be the main and the rest will be side unless you change to view one at a time (read Luke' review!), picture is not great, really bad: NO REMOTE CONFIGURATION, as an IT / consumer id like to be able to add/remove/change user and passwords remotely , or fix picture, or change time / recording /network settings, or many other things that im able to do on other systems.my experience: 1) the NVR power cord that came with the system had to be replaced (was DOA) one call and they sent out a new one. 2) network issues: for some odd reason the system was "glitching" and remote view was "online" "offline" at random, after sending back and forth info with the tech i opted to do a full reset to network settings and change from DHCP to Static - resolved the issues and we been up for 2 weeks now.
