WOW! I Couldn't out worth down!
I’m so glad I started reading Worth when I was on holiday, because honestly I don’t know how I would have coped with only reading a chapter a night when busy working, I was totally hooked! I wanted to find out all about Bharti and her life, her journey, Bhartis’ Father and family. It’s an amazing read based around true events from Bhartis child hood to growing up, over coming fear/illness/loss/Journey. It really opened my eyes reading about this amazing yet hard journey, I felt truly inspired by all Bharti had achieved by the end of the book. A lovely inspiring read, I brought this book outside my usual book selection genre I’m so glad I did and was not disappointed!

INSPIRING
A roller coaster of a childhood and adolescence- from being regarded as both a bringer of good luck and somehow cursed. Bharti experienced prejudice and misunderstanding, because of being mixed race and having a disfiguring health condition. The hypocrisy and insults she received from three different religious communities where she was trying to find meaning and help are appalling. Yet she finally found her own path outside of conventional religions and discovered a powerful sense of worth. Throughout all of this, including having to flee Uganda because of Idi Amin's cruel persecution of the Asian population there, she shows the warmth and support of her close- knit family. I read an extract from this in a magazine which had a photo of Bharti who now looks confident and happy.

Incredibly personal, heartfelt and raw - could not put it down!
Bharti’s life story is incredibly well written, honest and from the heart. There is nothing but truth, hard facts and the very many personal challenges Bharti faced throughout her life. And her remarkable resilience, tenacity, strength and courage to keep moving forward. An inspiring read and someone we can all learn from. Amazing!

A wonderful, moving memoir of Bharti’s Life.
I read this book in 2 days, I couldn't put it down. It is a very powerful and emotional memoir of Bharti’s life. It was very thought provoking, and I learnt a lot about her life whilst growing up in Uganda with her adopted family and how Idi Amin’s government impacted her life when she and her family came to England to start a new life. Bharti has had to overcome many problems with her health, bullying, racism but has remained positive and made a good life for herself and her adopted daughter and supported by her lovely family. I would highly recommend this book, a very good read!

An emotional but inspiring read
An emotional memoir of a life lived in the face of so much adversity from the moment she was born. Yet Bharti has never let it define the rest of her life. Despite all her terrible experiences and what she has had to overcome, she is the kindest and most selfless person who has made it her life's work to help others who have no voice of their own. Bharti is a real-life super woman and truly inspirational. Reading her memoir has made me want to try to be a better person too. A great read!

A truly moving story.
Worth is a truly moving story of a remarkable lady. Bharti has given us a clear insight into the atrocities created in Uganda by Idi Amin. Her inner strength and faith through through adversity has shone through in this book and we have the pleasure of calling her our friend. Her kindness and thoughtfulness towards others has no boundaries. We are delighted that Bharti has now found true happiness as a mother with her delightful daughter. This is a book once started you will not want to put down!

Worth is a call to us all to look beyond superficial needs and desires
Worth is hard to put down, once you start reading. The difficulties the author has had to face would have brought many others to their knees. She is truly an amazing woman to have survived and still kept her sanity, spirituality, and worth ♥️
