The smoothest, most wonderful Earl Grey on the planet, with the notoriously surprising addition of smoke.Worth every penny. Sacrilege to get it in sachets, but I give it as a gift and I have friends who won't brew a pot. Plus it's nice for travel.

Very nice tea but very little smokiness or bergamot.

This product doesn't really need my endorsement but I wanted to add it anyway. This is a three-in-one review: -- My wife only drinks tea and although she likes the smell of coffee, she doesn't like the taste and never drinks it. She likes black tea, including Earl Grey, but she doesn't like this tea. One or two sips and she knew. -- My daughter is mostly a tea drinker, loves strong coffee as well, and doesn't like Earl Grey. She really likes this tea. -- I am mostly a coffee drinker but have tea with certain desserts or green tea in the evening. I love this tea.In general, I've found devoted tea drinkers (who never or very rarely drink coffee) for the most part don't like this tea. But people who enjoy both coffee (actual coffee, not just coffee-flavored drinks) and tea or even those mostly devoted to coffee (like myself) find this the perfect afternoon beverage. I have coffee in the morning and this tea mid-afternoon for a nice break in the day's work. Good on a weekend afternoon, as well.The loose tea can be ordered from Williams Sonoma but takes months to arrive; the bags are sealed and great for having in the office or on travel. Long review for a small product but I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed this tea that I thought I'd pass this reaction on.

My granddaughter came back from a year in London saying that “everyone drinks this” when she handed me the Smokey Earl Grey she brought with her. As soon as I tried it, I understood why “everybody” was doing that. When I finished my London box of tea, I tried ordering more from overseas. It took forever to arrive and was exorbitantly priced. So I turned to my standby Amazon for the next magical box of Fortnam and Mason Smokey Earl Grey tea. I really expected it to be stale and generally unsatisfactory. Boy, was I WRONG!!!!! It’s fresh and tasty and wonderful. It’s also reasonably priced. Yay!!!!

So this tea is good and I’ve never had a smoky earl grey before. I love smokiness like from a lapsang souchong tea and I also love the smell and taste of bergamot so this seemed like a match made in heaven for me.This has both, but I imagined the flavors being a little more bold. Now, this could just be the nature of the beast with this tea. Like I said, I haven’t had any other brands of smoky earl grey. If I find any, I’ll have to try them and update this review.It’s a bit pricey and not quite as bold as I had hoped but it’s good nonetheless and I would still recommend it.
