this amp is an amazing fabulous looking and sounding amplifier, im really impressed with the sound quality and its visual allure, highly recommended and great seller.

I bought this amplifier not from Amazon, but on AE 10 years ago, and it’s still going strong. I tried a few tube combinations but finally settled on Phillips/Svetlana C front end and Tung-Sol for the power tubes. The cost back then including shipping from PRC was just GBP325.00.I have to say, this amplifier punches many, many times above it’s weight and even now at double that old price, it’s STILL a no-brainer in terms of VFM.Great build quality and meaty transformers, (though not toroidals as the cylindrical covers hint at). 40W never sounded so good.I have tried several different sources including vinyl through a full RIAA blueprinted YAQUIN MS23B and NAKAMICHI CR4/CR5 decks, and a modified Yaqin CD Player. There is some crosstalk (on the older models) between outputs, but this is an easy fix for the enthusiast competent with a soldering iron.It can easily drive my £10K pair of QUAD electrostatics to comfortably loud levels, with clarity and depth hitherto unimagined at this price point.Comfortable to listen to for hours on end without fatigue, the best true listening test.The crackly volume pot and selector switch are/were however woeful, and needed to be replaced by the genuine ALPS items, hence only 9/10.
