Excellent book about AI, machine learning, and the future
Bottom line up front: I absolutely love this book.I'm not a data scientist. I'm a human communication and change leadership expert who is working with a friend to launch an AI/ML based company to establish valuation of data sets and set up a two-sided market where data producers and consumers can meet to transact with greater transparency and understanding of what their data is worth, what users should pay for it, and how the data will help answer their business questions.Being new to the world of AI, this book is exactly what I needed to get my head around the concepts and terms of the field and increase my knowledge base so I can better understand what our team's "Mathletes" are working on and how to translate their technical vocabulary into language investors and clients can readily understand. To be honest, I used to feel quite lost after the first 10 minutes of conversation when our technical team would get together to discuss problems and solutions. After reading this book, I now comprehend much more of those conversations and I feel better prepared to execute the communication, marketing, and investor relations aspects of my responsibilities on our team. I've always felt fairly confident in the "what" of what we are doing as a team, and now I have deeper insight in to the "how" of what we are doing. One of the things I love best about this book is the clarity of concepts and explanations. The authors have a gift for simply and clearly explaining complex subject matter in ways non-technical leaders like me can understand. I just want to thank the authors for these gifts of insight that I'll be applying every day for years to come.

Ready to Combine AI and People for Success?
More than ever companies are relying on combining human talent augmented with machine technology to improve processes, profits, positive outcomes for leaders, shareholders, and employees. Even smaller companies are realizing the benefits of machine intelligence and technology in order to compete globally and make swift changes to satisfy customers. Technology is the secret to success in our global economy for remaining relevant.Augmented Intelligence the Business Power of Human-Machine Collaboration by Judith Hurwitz, Henry Morris, Candace Sidner, and Daniel Kirsch is a power book if you want to dive deeper into the collaboration of AI and business. We rely on technology for all of our personal and work business and it is imperative that as leaders we create strong environments so that we have the proper tools and data to meet goals and customer needs.Augmented Intelligence is a book for leaders who want an in-depth look into AI and technology. The book illustrates how to produce higher-value work, implement automation, deflects myths about AI, and helps cut through the sophisticated jargon that we all hear from time to time but do not understand. I learned a lot from this book because AI is out of my comfort level however, it open a completely new world for me. I particularly support the point that AI is not here to replace people and jobs but to collaborate and augment processes and systems to produce growth and positive change. The information the authors share provides a realistic view of AI, both the plusses and the pitfalls. They show us that AI is not something we should fear and embracing it will enable us to take full advantage of new processes and skill changes to propel machine learning in all organizations. The book is laid out similar to a roadmap teaching the reader what Augmented Intelligence is, an introduction to the data cycle, how to build models, and how to implement change while investing in people to bring out the best while using AI.If you have a thirst for technology or are curious how Augmented Intelligence can help you grow as a leader in order to combine technology and people power this book is for you!

Excellent book on augmented intelligence for business leaders
I've known Judith Hurwitz professionally for probably close to 30 years as a technology analyst and as a CEO of her own firm. Of all the books she has written about technology (10 and counting) Augmented Intelligence is her best. As AI swarms around us, she provides in beautifully simple terms, clear definitions and insights that help both business leaders and AI data experts understanding the value of augmented intelligence. It is wonderfully easy to read considering the density of the subject matter and therefore a great primer for anyone interested in finding out how to apply AI to their own businesses for competitive advantage. This is the right book at the right time written by the right author.

Practical Guide to understand Augmented Intelligence and how to apply it.
Augmented Intelligence by Judith Hurwitz, Henry Morris, Candace Sidner and Daniel Hirsch is a book about Big Data, the Cloud and how Augmented Intelligence is being used in most businesses today. This books explains what Augmented Intelligence is and how to apply it. Augmented Intelligence is not intended to replace humans but rather puts humans at the center of the decision-making process. Applying Augmented Intelligence enables business leaders to make better decisions as opposed to just making decisions for them. The book goes into considerable detail about both the technologies involved and the implementation challenges ahead but in a way that even a non-technical reader can understand. This short book provides a practical understanding of a complex and important subject that will effect all our lives and is a great introduction for executives that need to know more about the pros, cons and technologies of Augmented Intelligence and provides all readers with a clear understanding of the impact of augmented intelligence on both society and business.

Great intro to AI for business
While the title of this book is Augmented Intelligence, it's really about how AI is being used in most businesses today - which is to help executives and managers to make better decisions as opposed to just making decisions for them. It goes into considerable detail regarding the technologies involved and the implementation challenges.Overall a very good introduction for executives that need to know more about the pros, cons and technologies of AI - which is everyone.
