Fantastic so far has really reduced debris that used to go into the pump area and ruin filters. But of hassel to clean our but ok. I'm reserving judgement on how well it holds up as it floats on top of water in direct hot sun. Time will tell.

This leaf basket is absolutely terrific at catching leaves. However, maintenance is a nightmare. First, putting the lid back on needs to be done with extreme care, it needs to be pushed in equally all the way in to the housing, or else it will leave an air gap or break the gasket.Taking the lid off requires a gym membership. You can put the container handle on the ground and arm wrestle the lid off. When you receive the item, try it when its brand new, then multiply that difficulty by a lot when you add the fact that maybe you didn't put the lid on perfectly, or else there is dirt stuck in there somewhere.So, it does it's job well and there are not many other designs out there to choose from. Anything is better than letting the leaves and junk get all the way to your pool pump and hope that basket can keep up. Next we are going to try the Pentair one since that one at least looks easier to open even though reviews state that you have to be careful closing it.

The Hayward Leaf Canister eliminates a clogged inlet line for my pool cleaner. No more worries about tree leafs fouling the cleaner even after windy days. Good solution for a reasonable price

This is a first-time owner and I'm very pleased.

I wish I could more easily open the filter. The poolman can but only comes once a week and it is full. Have had to replace two section of hose.

I would (and will) buy this again. It is not perfect. I guess the shipping issue was unusual because it was fulfilled by Amazon and took about 3 weeks. This was Sooner than they originally promised and probably not an issue for this review, but sheesh... I could have bought it at a local pool store a lot sooner (didn't compare prices though).As you can see the capacity is good and in case you wondered that bag is permanent so you do not need to order a second yet. I do not know how long it'll last but as a tip I was told that if your calcium is correct it will last longer. YMMV. I also learned that if you do not use the goop to seal the gasket it may last longer (and be easier to release the top). Goop not included, FYI. The top comes off easily enough and it is not not leaking any dirt so goop is not necessary.This attaches without any additional connectors in-line to hoses such as Kreepy Krauly, Baracuda G3 and G4, Pool Vac, Navigator, Polaris ATV or 145, and Sta Rite Great White (this was copied and pasted from the Amazon info for hoses we recently ordered and use - see the Pool Warehouse 48 inch Pool Cleaner Hose Aqua.It is large, and that darn handle, which makes cleaning MUCH more convenient, can hurt if you hit it while swimming (hand, arm, knee, stomach/side). It would be a better design if the handle or a grip was formed inside the plastic so the unit was smooth. I don't think you can tear skin because there is a blunt cap on the highest profile part, and so far no bruises, but it was painful enough that I am taking one star away. This has only happened a couple of times, so it is not a fatal flaw, and in fact I highly recommend it anyway. The convenience is much more important to me than the occasional bonk.Another issue with the handle is that it is a kid magnet. It is just too easy for them to grab it if it is close to the surface when they are still weak swimmers. I do not know how this is a problem yet, but I am uncomfortable with kids trying to use it or the hose as a grounding or tow line because it's bad for the hose and bad for the swimmer. It does not float unless it gets a little air in it.Overall, buy it. It's much more functional than the smaller one without a handle, and the down-side is probably not worth the star I deducted. I would buy it again and might even consider it as a gift to another pool owner (except that the shipping might miss a birthday).

Makes pool cleaner more efficient

Ok here’s the deal. At first I hated this thing but I stuck with it and now I know all the tricks. It’s awesome and has saved me tons of time. It’s built to last and makes keeping my pool clean a breeze. Hooked to a pool cleaner but will need an adapter.

Très satisfaite de mon achat. C'est vraiment la meilleure invention car aucun débris ne se rend à l'écumoir, ni dans la pompe, ni dans le filtreur. Je laisse l'aspirateur fonctionner seul durant la journée sans m'inquiéter. Le filet ramasse les débris fins et a une grande capacité. Je le suggère fortement même si c'est dispendieux.

Best thing since sliced bread. I have a really bad back and use our hayward vacuum "herbie" as much as possible, especially under the solar blanket. It will hopefully preserve our filter sand too. My only complaint is that it is a bit pricey.

To me this seems like a useful idea. However I don't think it's well implanted.There is a small air leak inside the canisterz which leads to vaccum suck after around an hour!

This is a good product ....would have given 5 stars but delivery took a long time despite Amazon Prime !
