The American University in Cairo Press Keda Mazbuut: A Grammar Book of Egyptian Colloquial Arabic with Exercises

Simple straightforward book
I really appreciated this book. I haven’t completed all of the assignments yet but I have done 4-5 chapters. I have been studying MSA for about 1 year. I wanted to focus specifically on Egyptian dialect and purchased several books. This is the best book-if you have some knowledge of Arabic and have studied some. I had a native Egyptian look at the book and he thought it was a wonderful book and extremely helpful In explanation. I have searched for more books by Mona Kamel Hassan but unfortunately she hasn’t written more lesson style books. This book does NOT go in depth with each lesson and assumes some prior knowledge. It was an excellent fit since I had recently completed in person classes for Modern Standard Arabic with Fusha. Also the transliteration or phonetic alphabet was different than I have been studying so that took some getting used to. I prefer to read just the Arabic script but not everyone has that level of knowledge. The book contains a little transliteration but mostly just Arabic so familiarity with the alphabet and pronunciation is important. So this is a great companion lesson book to specifically focus on the Egyptian dialect. I highly recommend if you are seeking clarity for speaking and learning the rules of Egyptian Arabic.

Material raro
É difícil encontrar uma gramática do dialeto egípcio (justamente por ser um dialeto). Esta é muito boa!
